I worked at Ace American Insurance full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Well established matured workplace. Good work environment

    Cons

    Advice to Management

    Listen more to your staff

    Pros

The HR manager and co-workers there were very friendly, and the supervisor was also nice.
Besides, I like the tidy work environment there.
    And the hourly

    Cons

I remember that the cafeteria was awful, since the food there was not so good, and was relatively expensive. So I had to bring my own food sometimes.

    Advice to Management

I can't really come up with some suggestions, since I only worked there for a very short duration, which means I know little of the management there.

I worked at Ace American Insurance full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good people to work with; and I found that if you work hard promotions are within reach. In my situation my boss always went to bat for me.

    Cons

Need to work very hard, wear several hats and be able to multitask. Insurance is difficult these days as all companies are trying to do with less, ACE is no exception. ACE expects alot out of its employees but at least in my case that was told up front.

    Advice to Management

Improve the IT infrastructure. If transactions were more automated expenses would decrease.

    Pros

Few or no politics. People are forthcoming and friendly. Challenging work.

    Cons

Would be nice if more training is provided and encouraged.

    Pros

Will keep you updated as far as any licenses or credits you need to get for the job.

    Cons

When they find someone else that does your job better than you they will set you up so that you will either get fired or take the severance. In other words, they will get you out!

I have been working at Ace American Insurance full-time

    Pros

Work environment is overall pleasant. Benefits are on par with other companies and the ESPP is a nice perk.

    Cons

In my area of expertise there is limited growth potential unless you are in the Home Office. Sometimes upper management is detached from what is going on in the field and seems to devalue our input. Systems are not the best and seemed to be chosen soley on price without any meaningful investigation into their functionality.

    Advice to Management

Growth potential for people in the field would be appreciated. Once you hit a certain level there is nowhere to go but out the door to expand.
