I have been working at Ace Mart Restaurant Supply full-time

    Pros

Good work/life balance. Generous 8% 401K match. Company works hard to keep health insurance costs down. Room for growth if you're willing to work hard, put in the time and be patient.

No one is commission-based, despite what an earlier review says. Salespeople help customers find the right product for their need, whether it's a big sale or not, which is less stressful on everyone.

    Cons

Employees often promoted into management based on longevity and not actual managerial skills. Being good at sales or being able to follow S.O.P. to the letter does not a leader make, and good employees have been lost because they were made to report to a sub-par manager.

    Advice to Management

Accountability should work both ways and that includes senior leadership.

Recognize and take care of your dedicated, long-term employees. They keep things running quietly and smoothly so it's easy to forget how hard they work for you.

I worked at Ace Mart Restaurant Supply full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Family atmosphere. 7-12 Associates at each location. Constant education off product knowledge.

    Cons

Not much room for advancement. Too much completion among associates. If you don't speak Spanish you lose the chance of getting a lot of sales. Corporate office has favorites that will go far. If your not a favorite- expect to stay at the bottom with little recognition for a long time.

    Advice to Management

Professional should be able to be fair and not have favorites. Be more of a leader and put business first!
