I have been working at Acelero Learning full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Acelero is so committed to meeting our mission of closing the achievement gap for children in our Head Start program. i am proud to be able to work for a company that is always working to make services better for everyone.

    Cons

We all just want to do a great job for our children but often find ourselves overwhelmed by how many regulations there are just to work in Head Start. As a result, there is a high amount of paperwork.

    Advice to Management

Continue to let the mission drive the program.

    Pros

You get district pay, heath benefits, and 410k. That's really all there is really not much good to say.

    Cons

You are disrespected and devalued. Management was horrible. Doing home visits is dangerous and they don't pay you extra to work over time.

I have been working at Acelero Learning (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Paid vacation time; however given the work load and disrespectful tone of management it is not really enough to be a "pro" I stay because the job market in this area is poor, but I am actively looking for a new opportunity.

    Cons

Leadership at Acelero is lacking leadership! To me your leadership is supposed to inspire you, to provide encouragement, support, and guidance for the work you do. That is not the case at Acelero. The group is extremely unprofessional. It pains me to see that the responses to some of these comments are "it takes hard work to close the achievement gap." That is very very true, however you are not going to close the achievement gap by being disrespectful to your employees that are on the front lines. Also, most staff do Home Visits independently because that is what they are directed to do to meet the required deadlines( both Education and Family Workers)

    Advice to Management

Start over with staff that are true leaders and really care about the words that are behind your mission.

    Pros

Working with families that want help for themselves and their children.

    Cons

The only thing good about this company is the three weeks worth of breaks they provide throughout the year. The more time you spend away for this place the better. From the time you get hired into thinking you're working for a stand up company, to the time you come to your senses and quit, you are basically on your own. Everyone from management to co-workers don't have your back and are out for themselves, aside from a chosen few. Half of the people here aren't fit to work at a gas station much less a preschool.
I've been in the workforce for 20 years and never have I seen a company more spiteful and evil. They build a foundation on caring about the children and the families they serve but the truth is they care about anything but. This company is a joke and if it survives another five years is just a testament to how evil never dies. Anyone with at least two working brain cells should not apply to, or accept an interview from this company. First, last, and final warning!!

    Advice to Management

Quit so that the people that really care about making a difference in the lives of families and the employees that work there can step in and take your place.

    Pros

There is nothing good about this company

    Cons

    Pros

    Pros

Able to make a difference in underprivileged students' lives. Relationships that are built with parents and students will last a lifetime.

    Cons

Too many philosophies and theories being applied at once. High turnover due to treatment of employees.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees. They're the ones on the front line day to day working with the students and families. Implement policies and procedures and make sure they apply to all employees not just a few. Take away from philosophies and theories what will actually work for the company demographic of children you serve. Employees want to feel appreciate for their hard work and should be recognized more than every year, five, etc...Going above and beyond should be recognized everyday, week, month etc....Your employees work hard for the students they serve and Acelero should work hard for their employees
