I worked at Acer Group (Less than a year)

    Pros

The staff were absolutely supportive to the interns. Lots of flexibility in terms of work contents. They tried to know your expectations on the intern before and during the internship, providing the best resource they could. You really learned the scope, the culture, and the company after couple months services.

    Cons

The pay wasn't very competitive. It's more like a learning opportunity than an actual job.

    Advice to Management

How you paid the employees somehow shows the overall status of the company. Might not be a good idea showing young talents with that number.

    Pros

NONE!!!! Lousy customer service, lack of warranty, crappy products. Anyone that buys ACER is a fool. Total products are total garbage and so is the management

    Cons

EVERYTHING!!!!! IF you have an ACER that actually works consider yourself VERY lucky cause if it doesn't, you are totally screwed by ACER and customer service

    Advice to Management

Pull their heads out of their butts and start ripping off the public and start making a decent product. At least one 's that work. Start with customer service and and and answer the phone when you are called

    Pros

a company with long history, Global company with an impressive growth in the last years. Excellent products to offer. There are many challenges in any position, so it is almost impossible to get bored.

    Cons

bureaucracy, non flat organization, Internal communication issues and very long processes. Since it is a global company, procedures and regulations are revised constantly, so probably the things you learn today might not help much in the near future.

I have been working at Acer Group full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Acer is a tough environment to work in, especially if you're remote. That said, if you can align yourself properly its possible to make change pretty quickly.

    Cons

Historically Acer was a very top down management style; that's starting to change under the new leadership where management is more open to ideas but it really depends upon the dept you work in. Also, being remote is tough as lots of decisions are made in real time in Taipei.

    Advice to Management

Focus on retaining those employees who will be your long-term assets. It's been a challenge to hire in new staff due to Acer's recent performance; those who stay are loyal but that needs to be both ways to ensure commitment.

I have been working at Acer Group (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    - good company for average people with no ambitions

    Cons

    - low salaries
    - no clear goals and career path
    - mostly oriented on day by day activities, keeping the lights on (operation and survive)
    - very poor top management including HR
    - no flexibility and no smart working at all (working from home not allowed)

    Advice to Management

    - move forward, hire younger managers with a more modern mindset
