    Great team, very smart people, real A-players

    Cons

    The majority of career opportunity/progression is in the Toronto office where 75% of the CSM team are. Opportunities to excel outside of the Toronto office are few and far between.

    Advice to Management

    Be aware of your remote employees and offer career opportunities as much as possible to keep them engaged, as it's harder to be part of something when you're not close to the action.

    I have been working at Achievers (More than a year)

    Pros

    Seems like management does genuinely care about the employees. There is good flexibility in work hours and work / life balance. Office location prime.

    Cons

    There is no direction. Before the company was acquired by Blackhawk it seemed like we were getting close to a plan, now feels like starting from scratch again.

    Advice to Management

    It's understood that the status quo is somewhere in the middle of limbo, but there could be much better communication between management and employees.

    Pros

    Collaboration and employee success are at the heart of the company and high on management's priority. Employee and customer happiness is very important to Achievers

    Cons

    High management turnover is causing uncertainty and loss of valuable team members. This brings anxiety but also opportunity to the organization

    Advice to Management

    Stability and focus are necessary to bring the MOJO back to the team!

    Amazing office space and a ton of company events. Free breakfast and drinks. Good communication among employees and senior leadership

    Breakfast groceries at work
    Great Teambuilding activities, Soccer, Yoga
    Awesome culture, though it is starting to decline and is not a focus for the HR team anymore, but also departmental leaders.

    Cons

    Not compensated well, and yes every employee wants to be paid more, however this employer pays really poorly compared to industry standards.
    Work load - always working late and in the weekends, no work/life balance
    Blackhawk Network acquisition - lay off's in operational departments, driving morale and culture down. With the exception of those departments that are not affected.

    Pros

    Amazing culture with amazing people.

    Cons

    Horrible salary, no improvement potential for hires coming out of university, hierarchical organization with a lot of income inequality.

    Advice to Management

    There needs to be a structure in place for pay raises, and more transparency in regards to income for the departments. They are paid horribly, are rarely given opportunities for advancement and these departments barely stay engaged with the company. This causes quick turnover rate for their positions and low scores/ratings for this department. For being an HR software company that promotes employee engagement, it should be noted that salary and compensation is also very important when it comes to employee engagement and work ethic.

    Pros

    People are friendly, office locations are amazing, the market is in the middle of being disrupted. The board is also packed with experience.

    Cons

    Below avg salaries, mediocre perks, everybody thinks they are the best and brightest which is a bi-product of the recognition space we are in.

    Advice to Management

    Raise the talent bar and decide on being a software company or not.
