I have been working at Acistek Corporation full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

The people. I work at the headquarters and not at a client site so I'm sure the overall experience is different for the employees who work elsewhere, but I love our people. It is definitely a young crew, which for me, is nice because I can easily relate to my coworkers and have made some wonderful friends. That being said, for a while we were at a deficit of experienced employees and with the majority of your workforce...

    Cons

AcisTek is a government contractor and very focused on client service so I don't think enough importance was always placed on each employee. However, since the new CEO came on, everyone has a more clear idea of their positions, future goals and who their manager is. I mentioned before the addition of more mid-senior level employees. This has really helped because employees have "actual" managers and I think this aids...

    Advice to Management

Keep up the transparency! Make sure your fulfilling your promises of making employee opinions count (Not saying this isn't currently true). In the past, this was not always the case so make sure that as you continue to grow, you're staying true to your word. Continue to invest in more seasoned employees, but it's great that your willing to hire the underdog.

I have been working at Acistek Corporation full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

Acistek has had some really exciting management changes in the recent past, as well as a new CEO, who is revitalizing the company and its atmosphere. It is a very exciting time to work for Acistek because the company is really investing in the growth and happiness of their employees. They are supporting the opportunities of certifications in leading technologies and finding specialized work for those who seek out and...

    Cons

When I first started, there wasn't a lot of dedicated management in place, and I hadn't worked with a team before, so it was a harder transition for me personally. Since I started, the team has really come together and made my experience a positive one.

    Advice to Management

Continue the course of growth and continue to encourage and facilitate the growth of your employees.

      Positive Outlook

I have been working at Acistek Corporation full-time

      Pros

AcisTek is a great company to start your IT career with. The opportunities to learn and work within different IT channels, i.e business analysis, business development, engineering, networking, etc... are endless. Being apart of a small business allows the employees to interact with upper management on a daily basis and contribute to the overall vision and growth.

      Cons

As a fast-paced and fast growing company there is some ambiguity with everyday tasks. Being a young professional you really need the go-getter attitude and have the desire to improve and help the team improve. If that is you, this is the company for you. If you prefer more structure or need specific direction, you may find this is a challenging environment.

I have been working at Acistek Corporation full-time for more than 2 years

        Pros

This is a small business with ample opportunity to learn and grow as long as you show initiative and positive energy. My colleagues are welcoming and always there to support me. The management team encourages and appreciates ideas and contributions in all aspects of the business. They also work hard to accommodate my professional interests and help me explore arenas of the industry that I didn't know about. I love that...

        Cons

Working at a small company means you are often asked to assume different responsibilities which could be overwhelming at times. However, depending on how you look at it, it could also be a great opportunity to learn about how a small business operates and get to be a part of the making of a growing company.

        Advice to Management

The training process for new employees could use some improvements (more structured and standardized)

I have been working at Acistek Corporation full-time for more than a year

        Pros

My interview process went smoothly, and I heard back form HR in a very timely manner after my interview (1-2 days) regarding the position. After a week or two of orientation I was very much integrated into the daily business life of the company, and was able to receive more responsibility and work after about 1.5 months. If you show the initiative and enthusiasm, you will be rewarded with more responsibility and knowledge...

        Cons

Since this is a very small business, employees are often asked to wear many hats at the same time, and divide their attention among competing responsibilities. This can either be a pro or a con, depending on your disposition. While this is sometimes stressful, it also exposes employees to a broad range of work within the company and gives them a chance to round out their professional interests.

        Advice to Management

The current training and on-boarding process is more "baptism by fire" than anything else, which works for some but not necessarily all.

I worked at Acistek Corporation full-time for more than 2 years

        Pros

        There are good coworkers here.

        Cons

They don't treat their employees really well. Also the pay is very low for the market place, offering only $50K. With that sort of pay, you can find much better jobs elsewhere as a web developer.

        Advice to Management

        Treat your employees better.

I worked at Acistek Corporation full-time for more than a year

        Pros

        Convenient location, many wonderful coworkers.

        Cons

The owner/CEO of the company is incredibly corrupt. He steals hundreds of thousands of dollars (if not more) from his government clients on a yearly basis, and encourages his employees to lie to clients. He is controlling, manipulative, and verbally abusive. He has his few favorite employees - don't expect to become one of them. He will treat you like trash, and his favorites will too.
