    I worked at Ackman-Ziff full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

If you're a goal oriented entrepreneur, this place is for you.
    Market credibility is very high!
    High-profile deals and clientele.
VERY smart, out-of-the box creative thinkers.

    Cons

Partnership based firm (pro and a con!).
If you're not comfortable developing new business, may not be the best fit...that said, if you're not comfortable developing new business, this may NOT be the business for you!

    Advice to Management

Allow more opportunities to become "vested" in the firm....not necessarily economically.

    Pros

Unparalleled exposure to premiere sponsorship, capital providers and deal flow
Provides a "boot camp" for junior professionals to hone their real estate acumen

AZ brand recognition provides credibility for your future

    Cons

    Long-ish work hours
Responsible for more menial tasks early on, but responsibility increases with competence (same with any job)
At the mercy of the client, but that's the nature of the business
    Long/undefined timeline for promotion

    Advice to Management

    Maintain brand reputability
Provide a measured, defined guideline for promotions
More active mentoring from senior leadership

    Pros

Really smart real estate guys, deal machines in an up market. When things are going well, you will make a large amount of money relative to the number of hours you work. You will meet lots of important and powerful real estate people, including developers, investors, brokers, etc.

    Cons

Real estate crash tends to put a damper on things. There is no such thing as job security in this market-- when the financing vanishes there isn't too much to do.

    Advice to Management

Wait 5 years for a good real estate market again, slim down in the meantime.
