I have been working at Acosta part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Flexible scheduling. Gas and Mileage reimbursement. Low to no supervision. Opportunity to travel for work. Pretty laid back job especially if you like to work alone, like I do. Favorable job for retired people.

    Cons

No opportunity for a pay increase, EVER.
Constant last minute and inconvenient schedule changes.
Several blackout periods of NO WORK, mainly due to any and every holiday.
Disrespectful, unprofessional "partner company" team mates and management (NOT Acosta, but the companies we have to work with occasionally).

    Advice to Management

Work on your communication skills. Allow an opportunity for advancement and pay increase.

I have been working at Acosta full-time

    Pros

You can do what you want . No supervision . Make your own schedule

    Cons

The company does not give out raises they spend their money buying other companies . Acosta has bought Mosaic and Actionlink . They do not put their employees first . Hard time getting my payroll approved

    Advice to Management

Instead of spending money buying other companies why don't you invest in your employees and give them raises

I worked at Acosta (Less than a year)

    Pros

Most management is great to work with and can recognize good work.

    Cons

One person is immature, needs training, and should not be in a position of management. No doubt it is this person that cost the company the loss of a major account. Or at the very least contributed to it. she was difficult to work with, looking to place blame instead of problem solving, inconsistent, and inflexible.

    Advice to Management

Trust your employees that have many years experience. Especially when they tell you that others are not doing their job, cheating, lying, and dishonest. Don't penalize employees for going above and beyond. Some people were well trained and take pride in what they do instead of taking shortcuts.

When someone is on vacation, try to remember when they are booked for vacation and don't bug them with messages.

    I worked at Acosta full-time

    Pros

Work/life Balance was nice. They have good benefits, the hours were also good.

    Cons

No room for growth. The office is quiet and people keep to themselves. The work is repetitive and the BMs you work under aren't always the most helpful.

    Advice to Management

Learn to hire within. You get smart young kids, and then ruin it with lack of training and empty promises.

    Pros

I enjoy interacting with store management and assoicates.
    Variety of work.

    Cons

The hourly rate of pay is very low.
most weeks only 10 hrs or less of work
Must be available on weekends for stocking
Job is part time but many times must be available 24/7
Not alot of direction from area manager.

    Advice to Management

I am sure this company is not interested in my opinion.
territories should be dedicated and not a free for all. Mgr does not spread the work out for all merchandisers but keeps lots of work for a few. Work never makes it to
    job offers site.
