I have been working at Acronis full-time

    Pros

    *Solid technology
    *Newfound commitment to marketing
    *Decent salary
*Leadership really pushing to build $1B company
*Great opportunity in cloud marketplace for data protection

    Cons

    *Constant changes at leadership level
*Way too many 'cooks in the kitchen', the organization is way too top heavy
*Sales Compensation plans are capped and are not designed to drive the right business behaviors
*Company is trying to do too many things at once
    *No room for growth

    Advice to Management

When you make a plan, stick with it. Also, the sales compensation plans are designed for a larger company that has a market-leading technology and a commodity core product, not for a company who is trying desperately to take market-share away from larger companies and that not many people know about. Act like you care about your employees instead of treating them like a 'means to an end'. Keep investing in marketing, the biggest issue (aside from constant turnover and lack of execution) is that the marketplace is not fully aware of Acronis and all of its solutions.

I have been working at Acronis full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

A recognized product. Training is an adequate start, but new product roll outs could be better

    Cons

The biggest con would be the lack of help with personal development within one's assigned area. The question arises, "does the company want me to make a career here, or just passing through?"

    Advice to Management

Train more. Be more clear on career opportunities within the company

    Cons

    * Owners are interfering with management
    * All-Russian development team is removed from core markets and moving too slow
    * Too many products, no leadership in any market segment
    * Recent upending of management structure and replacement of CEO created uncertainty and is destroying the climate

    Advice to Management

    * Focus on core products

I worked at Acronis (More than a year)

    Pros

    - good location
    - good working atmosphere as it was a little company
    - as long as you execute everything - it is good

    Cons

    - upper management was just looking at their performance indicators, not people
    - bureaucracy was met as soon as something left the local level
    - hiring /firing was on corporate hands (US mainly )
    - almost no opportunities to grow

I worked at Acronis full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

My colleagues and managers were always friendly and helpful. The office was nice and cozy. Free salami and cheese. Office parties are quite rad.

    Cons

It's a costumer service, if you don't like angry costumers, stressful and frustrating problem solving and if you lack analytical skills you should better look elsewhere. Sometimes you feel that the responsabilities you have are far greater than the salary you got. Sometimes there is no salami, which is sad.

    Advice to Management

In the last period I worked for acronis we started working alongside with a customer service center located in another country. People from there were not very skilled, to say the least. if the company would like to cut on some expensese customer service shouldn't be one of them.

    Pros

Acronis can offer a great opportunity to self-reliant people who are not afraid of running the extra mile to finish demanding daily tasks and reaching sales quotas. The business is growing rapidly and every quarter is a new challenge/adventure to do better!

    Cons

    - The flip of the coin for this necessary autonomy and self-reliance comes in the form of a disorganised structure with ever-changing process. The tool support (to issue inernal quotes, of for partners) is very low.
    - The offer is becoming larger and larger which makes if difficult for sales reps to gain solid technical knowledge and share it among the Channel: Backup, then mobility, then cloud-based solutions, SPLA... Where is the messaging?
    - Internally there is no feeling that successful employees can be rewarded with a promotion and/or a leadership role. Many Mid-Management or Exec roles are awarded to IT seniors who have little experience in this industry and high expenses.

    Advice to Management

More than 10 years you created a technology so simple and stable that it should be present in all organizations. Do not try to conquer too many different fronts or chase technically-advanced competitors on enterprise segment. Acronis is king of mid-range backup.

I have been working at Acronis full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

You will gain the experience learning to do new things yourself when assigning with new projects.

    Cons

There are too many layers in the organization, and the top are heavier than the ground staffs. And, communications are filtered, vision doesn't align with actions.

    Advice to Management

Simplicity is a good vision, but adding multiple layers only makes it more complex. I see only simplicity for the CEO to manage his own business, but adding complexity to the employees to follow.

Too many layers at the top (each having their own agenda)... adding too much workload to the bottom workforce will just push them away.

Company wants to move further, wants to drive growth but not looking at growing their own employees. I find that it is bad. From my feeling, you are treating employees like commodities... one goes, just hire another...
