I have been working at Actavis full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

It was an entrepreneurial company with many experienced industry veterans who can make things happen. Good 401k match and no cost for actavis drug

    Cons

Constant merge and acquisition, no stability and become bureaucratic and lost advantage in the industry. Not enough PTO. Not good enough health benefits

    Advice to Management

Learn from people who knows their business instead of encouraging bureaucratic culture

I have been working at Actavis as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

Competitive pay and benefits. Great location in research park and a nice facility overall. Good products in a strong and growing industry.

    Cons

Multiple ownership changes in the last few years have left manufacturing area employees at the Watson/Actavis/Teva plant unsure of what the future holds. Accordingly, many of the best have jumped ship to other local medical manufacturing companies, leaving behind an unmotivated workforce. Workplace training is almost nonexistent, consisting mostly of pro forma document signing, while hours are wasted in paperwork errors, entire crews sit idle for long periods of time due to poor scheduling and basic contamination and PPE protocols are routinely ignored by employees who are uninformed or simply disinterested. Potential employees should be aware-this is one of the least motivated and motivating facilities that I have ever encountered in almost 20 years of manufacturing. If hired, prepare to be confused, frustrated and working in a low-morale environment that has bred a toxic workplace culture. Overt racism, bigotry, sexual harassment, as well as other unprofessional conduct, are the order of the day in this facility. The 12 hour shifts are soul-destroying in this situation.

    Advice to Management

Communicate with your employees. People who are unsure of their own futures willation by even the lowest standards. not be effective employees in the workplace. Get the H.R. department actively involved in replacing the current toxic culture with a healthy one. Implement an active training department in your manufacturing area-the propagation of incorrect procedures due to poor/nonexistent training and communication difficulties is a serious issue.

I have been working at Actavis full-time

    Pros

Good company for the most part. Pay is decent, Annual bonus, lots of overtime in my plant. Plant manager Jim Shwier is good at managing and piloting the plant.

    Cons

Supervisors and managers need to learn how to communicate with employees and take responsibilities as managers instead of blaming employees for everything.

    Advice to Management

Supervisors and managers need to learn how to communicate with employees and take responsibilities as managers, instead of blaming employees for everything. Not much opportunity for growth in the QA in process department.

    Pros

    Pros

Large Company with great potential for on the job learning

    Cons

Ft Lauderdale site is over-run with favoritism. There is great potential for on the job learning, if you are well liked by supervisors. HR does nothing, only complains back to lab upper management to fix the problem. To their credit, upper lab management tries to solve the problem but only if you complain over and over and over again.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of some of the supervisors

I have been working at Actavis full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Actavis is family friendly, offers great benefits, and has a high level of professionalism. The people are knowledgeable and hard working.

    Cons

There have been a lot of changes recently with the acquisition of multiple other companies and the coming sale of the generics division. It can be hard to plan for the future when job stability isn't guaranteed.

    Advice to Management

There needs to be more opportunity for advancement.
