    Pros

    It's a job.. a hard job, but a job!

    Cons

Never listened to warehouse employees. Working every holiday....never nice job. Way too many supervisors and managers for 80 people. Top heavy.

    Advice to Management

    Listen to your team

    Pros

    Great Co-workers and decent benefits.

    Cons

Some managers are great. Others are only in a management position so long they can't be fired. If you work for one of these as an engineer you will be micromanaged until you want to pull your teeth out. Under these managers there is no opportunity for intelligent thought or creativity.

    Advice to Management

Watch your middle management. especially those managers who can't keep their engineers for more than two years. I'll be the next to leave.

    Pros

If you are fortunate enough to get stock options it performs very well. Very large global company so you could get to travel to some good places.

    Cons

The company is growing way to fast and the IT organization is in complete chaos. They are constantly integrating companies and the technology is out dated. They put new projects on hold with every new acquisition, so it only delays the process.
the leadership in IT is not the best and many have jobs they are not qualified to have.

    Advice to Management

Stop putting IT projects on hold due to new acquisitions. You are buying these companies so the global vision you setup should be implemented to them. The current analysis by paralysis will prevent you from ever getting nay standards in place.

I have been working at Actavis (More than a year)

    Pros

Dynamic - if you like a visionless operation run by leadership who just seems to be a little bit shady - you never get an honest entire answer - my opinion / experience

    Cons

Basically is Forest Labs,,,, stereotypical comment in the industry when you hear the name Forest it is closely followed up by low ethics, not recognized as a high character company. Reflective of the leadership - my opinion

I have been working at Actavis full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Benefits package (UnitedHealthCare) is respectable. Troops on the ground actually care about their work. The companies that were purchased to create Actavis are generally very good companies with skilled staff.

    Cons

Management is terrible. The company breeds a culture of silos and unethical behavior. The company is a cash-cow for investors, but at the cost of respect for employees. The CEO is not interested in creating high quality products; he is only interested in making deals to increase profits.

    Advice to Management

Stop the A&M long enough to assimilate the companies you now own. Staff spend so much time trying to merge processes across the organization that there is no time to do their jobs. The company needs to reach a steady state or it's going to implode, quality will collapse, and the profitability will decline drastically.

I have been working at Actavis full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Stock awards and options can translate into significant income.
Employees from legacy companies acquired by Actavis may have good severance package.
A lot of products in the pipeline, and growing through acquisition.

    Cons

Benefit next to nothing, and everyone is raging about it. It's the worst I know among all the pharmaceutical companies. e.g. one week new parent leave per year of service at 40% pay.
Treat employees as slaves, no training or development opportunities.
Very few people believe that the CEO plans to run the company long-term. With all the acquisition, reorg and layoff, things may look nice on the paper, but inside there is really no support or guidance whatsoever on how to actually build products. Workload tripled while employees cut more than half. We are just barely holding it together, and It will fall apart sooner or later.

    Advice to Management

Honor your word of "value the employees", because fewer and fewer people are with you now.
Consider revising benefits because that is one of the main reason people leave.
Training is vital to handle new organizational models and business processes.

I have been working at Actavis full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

401K match - Vesting after 2 years due to high turnover rate.

    Cons

Threatening, bullying management. Very long hours due to skeleton staff. IT management gives absolutely no direction, but they are happy to chew you out for not working weekends. Upper management very nasty and looking to sell company to make a quick buck and exit with their millions

    Advice to Management

While trying to sell company stop company wide emails that state to "keep working" and ignore the imminent sale. It's not working.....

    Pros

great benefits, time to go home

    Cons

hours, supervisors, last minute over time, forced over time, no respect. 15 minutes break includes de gowning, shoe covers, head covers, long walk to break room, same thing for lunch , you really only get 22 minutes not 30 minutes for lunch

    Advice to Management

    already closing plant to late

    Advice to Management

Good move in changing CEO's, listen to your field sales people, gain formulary coverage in managed care, hold yourselves accountable
