I worked at Actavis as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

Everybody else loses thier soul working for them too. Well the younger guys feel a mixture of shame and stress. The older guys making all the money are soulless to begin with.

    Cons

Contract work that means burnout is unavoidable. The company uses you but doesn't give you health benefits. Soul-crushing.

    Advice to Management

    Get out!

I worked at Actavis full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

None. Of course there are some great people trapped in this company. All were looking for new positions to escape.

    Cons

This company is as close to what being in prison must be like. Management by fear and intimidation. Unrealistic expectations. Unprofessional morons running these places.

    Advice to Management

The only good that can come of this place will be if the upcoming Teva leadership cleans out the entrenched and hostile old leadership top to bottom.

    Pros

Actavis Only Motivation is RAPING Companies and stealing their cash to find their sick agenda

    Cons

See The Above. They Are Heathens Of The Highest Order

    Advice to Management

Management From Actavis should spend their time and energies in doing their job and not acting like criminal who engage in wholesale rape for Icahn

    Pros

    Great Co-workers and decent benefits.

    Cons

Some managers are great. Others are only in a management position so long they can't be fired. If you work for one of these as an engineer you will be micromanaged until you want to pull your teeth out. Under these managers there is no opportunity for intelligent thought or creativity.

    Advice to Management

Watch your middle management. especially those managers who can't keep their engineers for more than two years. I'll be the next to leave.

    Negative Outlook

I worked at Actavis full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Drugs are decent and territory smal. maybe it is better to have this job then have nothing else.

    Cons

Terrible managers. Majority are former sports players. Most are not very bright. The are not creative or intelligent. They are very much like cars salesmen. Many could never do anything successfully outside of their job as a DM because they lack business and social skills. Most are insecure and scared of the regional. the majority do not trust others and put down people - bashing them and blaming them. Managers tend to run their teams like a 3rd grade class room. They are more like dictators. Mostly, the DMs look down on the physicians and think the rep is more important then the clinic. There is also a lack of cohesion in how the managers want the reps to work in the field. One manager will right out a bullet point script and expect you to repeat all 7 bullet points on every call. the next anager will want you to make it more conversational. There is a HUGE ARRAGANCE at this company. I likened it to the Russian government hierarchy and how they view and treat the Russian citizens.
