    Advice to Management

Management From Actavis should spend their time and energies in doing their job and not acting like criminal who engage in wholesale rape for Icahn

I have been working at Actavis full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Actavis is family friendly, offers great benefits, and has a high level of professionalism. The people are knowledgeable and hard working.

    Cons

There have been a lot of changes recently with the acquisition of multiple other companies and the coming sale of the generics division. It can be hard to plan for the future when job stability isn't guaranteed.

    Advice to Management

There needs to be more opportunity for advancement.

    Pros

    Great Co-workers and decent benefits.

    Cons

Some managers are great. Others are only in a management position so long they can't be fired. If you work for one of these as an engineer you will be micromanaged until you want to pull your teeth out. Under these managers there is no opportunity for intelligent thought or creativity.

    Advice to Management

Watch your middle management. especially those managers who can't keep their engineers for more than two years. I'll be the next to leave.

I worked at Actavis full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Drugs are decent and territory smal. maybe it is better to have this job then have nothing else.

    Cons

Terrible managers. Majority are former sports players. Most are not very bright. The are not creative or intelligent. They are very much like cars salesmen. Many could never do anything successfully outside of their job as a DM because they lack business and social skills. Most are insecure and scared of the regional. the majority do not trust others and put down people - bashing them and blaming them. Managers tend to run their teams like a 3rd grade class room. They are more like dictators. Mostly, the DMs look down on the physicians and think the rep is more important then the clinic. There is also a lack of cohesion in how the managers want the reps to work in the field. One manager will right out a bullet point script and expect you to repeat all 7 bullet points on every call. the next anager will want you to make it more conversational. There is a HUGE ARRAGANCE at this company. I likened it to the Russian government hierarchy and how they view and treat the Russian citizens.

I have been working at Actavis full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

(Actavis- now Allergan): Good products, earning potential, benefits package. Started with the company when it was still Forest Pharmaceuticals, and the culture was great. Unfortunately, that seems to be changing all the time now.

    Cons

Job stability- two acquisitions in less than 1 year. Two rounds of layoffs, affecting the sales force, middle managment, and upper managment.

    Pros

good place to learn "Change Management"

    Cons

Low salaries compared to pharma sector, only people with back ups in upper management can survive

    Advice to Management

mentality change was needed, though Allergan management is running the company after acquisition in April.

    Pros

The people are the company's strongest asset. Teams work together and support each other and the overall goals of the company.

    Cons

Middle management is on the same bonus scale as frontline supervision. In fact, with the added differential there is not much financial separation between the titles.

    Advice to Management

Recognize good performers before its too late. There are key individuals that have driven results in the organization, without whom the company would not be in a good position to continue its success.
