I have been working at Actelion Group full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Great benefits, great work-life balance

    Cons

Leadership is not transparent, Reactive company, zero support in the field, goals are outrageous. If things don't change, the mass exodus will continue.

    Advice to Management

Bring on Johnson and Johnson to help breathe life into this company with new marketing.
Go back to the patients and our core values. Please listen to the field management and sales.

    Pros

Great Manager, really great teammates to work with... manager let us run our own business and does not micromanage us.

    Cons

Lack of support from Medical, no communication with SF, everyone works in silos. Feels like no one is straight forward with us anymore. Isn't the company it once was.. it's really sad.

    Pros

great benefits,a lot of effort to do the little things that make working for a smaller biotech great(ie:upgraded co. cars, holiday gifts, better meeting sites).virtually no micro management unless numbers are down, in that case you will be stalked, berated and fired

    Cons

poor communication, little opportunity for advancing career, lack of direction from management.Middle management shows no interest in who you are as a human being.

    Advice to Management

Management style must change. what worked in the 80's and 90''s doesn't work today. Field sales are your most important asset, treat them like they matter and they will work hard for you.

I worked at Actelion Group full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

great benefits, work/life balance, many perks, great people to work with

    Cons

salaries below the market, intrigues, success not shared with non management employees - only managers got promoted. Real project/decision problems management had tabled or ignored although open communication one of Actelion pillow. Management substitute real work with extra meeting activity. I have seen examples when employees succeeded by showing off instead of real work.

    Pros

Great benefits, free snacks and drinks, view of South Bay

    Cons

High cost REMS products, limited pipeline, constant audit of SPs, favoritism shown in HQ

    Advice to Management

Have leaders who actually have Specialty Pharmacy experience rather than former managers who came from HR or Reimbursement Hub

I worked at Actelion Group full-time

    Pros

Great pay in a rewarding therapeutic area.

    Cons

I have seen more people have careers terminated over ridiculous and unjustified circumstances. Great pay but you better have a solid backup plan.

I have been working at Actelion Group full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Company is OK, mostly nice people working there

    Cons

Problem is with Clinical Development management who is under-qualified for their level of responsibilities and demonstrate their poor people management every day

    Advice to Management

While formerly Clinical Development upper-management was quite OK with managing their people, they were experts in drug development. The new team that came on board these last 4-5 years is destroying non only their human resources but also the company pipeline.

I worked at Actelion Group full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good products and pipeline but somewhat wasted on historically poor sales management and sales team, with a few exceptions; although its now improving and much less cronyism or questionable bonus schemes and promotions since National Sales Manager left; or rather, asked to leave.

    Cons

Limited career progression because of size of company but, depending on your manager, plenty of room for self-development and training opportunities.

    Advice to Management

Reward and promote the right people. Losing too many good people is bad for the company's image and for recruitment.
