    Pros

One of the best reasons to work at Actelion Pharmaceuticals is the people and the great work environment.

    Cons

One of the cons for working at Actelion Pharmaceuticals is that managers often micro manage employees and limited promotions.

    Advice to Management

Limited the amount of external consults and promote within the company existing employees.

    Pros

Competitive salary and bonus if you work hard and perform well. Actelion values family - work balance so you don't have to give up your life in order to achieve success. Management is relatively fair and keeps colleagues informed, however, there is limited career progression and ltitle they are doing about it. The same individuals get promoted over and over again. You have to wonder how someone is able to get promoted twice within six short months. The whole thing sounds fishy to me. However, Actelion is a good place and I would recommend you to check it out.

    Cons

Lack of career development for managers, sales reps, etc. Unfair practices in terms of who is given opportunities, who is not. There is minimal feedback on performance granted until the end of the year (when it's too late)

    Advice to Management

Be fair, open, and communicative. Don't play favorites, be honest - not undermining.

    Pros

Comp plan is fair and the company does the right thing ,
    Most of the time.

    Cons

Sales team is talented and a bit selfish and snobby.

    Advice to Management

Don't be distracted by the Janssen take over. Do all you can to fight for the great culture of Actelion.

I worked at Actelion Group full-time

    Pros

Actelion takes care of employees health benefits...huge plus!! The pay is excellent and very generous with many paid holidays...more so then the average pharma company.

    Cons

Management needs to ensure employees have a work and life balance schedule. I found at times traveling on Sunday nights to be at a site visit on Monday, then travel to another site visit the next day and rest of the week. I would not return home until either Thursday evening or Friday late morning. I was getting very burned out and felt like i was overloaded with work and it was very difficult to keep up with the deadlines
