    Pros

A terrific business model and some really creative, smart people.

    Advice to Management

Hire a real CEO and dramatically reduce the cost structure.

I worked at Active International full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Work on fortune 50 accounts with top agencies and media vendors in NYC without the NYC commute. Not too much overtime

    Cons

Everything else. Managers who know less about barter and/or the medium then the team that reports to them, extreme/ugly/blatant favoritism, Wasteful spending in lieu of raises, too many meetings, wasted time on numerous projects that never go anywhere, reporting to 3-4 managers all giving different direction. All about paperwork and process solely to place blame and point fingers. Despite what they might say, any "skills" acquired there are not marketable.

    Advice to Management

It used to be a great place, a little crazy but really good. Then you fired or forced out those who cared and helped you build the company and replaced them with managers who have their own agendas. Why?

I worked at Active International (More than a year)

    Pros

Had a lot of experience gained in a short amount of time. As well as getting to work on a lot of big name accounts (ie abc & nbc).

    Cons

Terrible management that was constantly changing and belittling you to make you feel worthless. i was verbally abused multiple times but could not go to HR because even that man was let go. I would leave work crying in my car many a time while working for Active International. They pay you cheap just like the company they are

    Advice to Management

You need to pay your employees better and respect them as the individuals they are.

I have been working at Active International full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

has a lot of potential - very entrepreneurial - many of the people are great and care - benefits and time off are pretty good

    Cons

lots of dead wood - high overhead costs - people who get paid who don't add value to the company - management takes care of itself before it's employees

    Advice to Management

put your employees first - increases to those at the bottom before the top - stop paying people huge salaries who don't provide any value to the company or the bottom line

I have been working at Active International full-time

    Pros

Flexible with work-life balance majority of the time

    Cons

No room for growth, a lot of negativity from management as well as employees.

    Advice to Management

Set career goals for your employees to continue to grow and work hard for you, don't just let them fizzle out.

I worked at Active International full-time

    Pros

Easy commute, u dont have commute to the city. Nice business complex & office. Nice perks, e.g...parties, free lunches, etc. Staff members (worker Bees are great). Great business model for Barter.

    Cons

Basically read every review, it's a theme here, not just one disgruntled employee. Duplicitous management & HR Dept. Management does not care about their employees, they mcromanage. Constant finger pointing & EXTREME favoritism. No raises for years & years. Late nights & hard work garner no recognition. They may have taken a lease till 2029 but they wont be around, their business & the company are going downhill fast due to it's horrific managers. A bunch of "yes men" & women.

    Advice to Management

No real advice because they are the problem. The owners are old & set in their ways, they hire "spinmasters" & brown noses as upper/middle management instead of good managers who can build this once great company to it's potential. Care about your employees & your culture, read these reviews & listen to your workers, there is a consistent theme in all these reviews. All management is out for themselves & their own personal gain.
