    Pros

    relaxed atmosphere.
    Free soda machines. (but nothing healthy)
    You can do things your way as long as you get it donw.

    Cons

    The software we sell is outdated. Old technology.
    Old hardwares. Most people here don't even have a decent computer. Not a lot to learn.
    Location is OK.

    Advice to Management

    make it a more exciting place to work. Look for long term solutions instead of quick fixes.
    Hiring one expert is better than 2 monkeys. (in the software development world)

    Many big egos, treat software developers as second rate compared to actuarials

    Treat Software Developers better.

    Laid back atmosphere
    Generous profit sharing and bonuses during good times

    Cons

    Lack of transparency into management decisions and company outlook
    Lack of communication
    Lack of visibility into performance management process
    Lean years means reduced bonus

    Advice to Management

    Owners need to share more insight into the business and improve communication. Need to have more transparent performance management and add awareness for development opportunities.

    I worked at Actuarial Resources as an intern

    Pros

    Great company, very dynamic and smart people, I enjoyed my 6 month there. The team was good, and I had few more responsibilities than intern usually do in France (That was in the HQ in Paris)

    Cons

    Even if I had some responsibilities for an intern, this is stil nothing compare to the responsabilities that some intern have in the US, in good companies
