    Pros

Flexible work schedule, primarily local travel requirements. Training classes provided from time to time to advance skill set. Access to latest technology and hardware is provided for the most part.

    Cons

Lack of advancement, infrequent communication between team members. Lack of a collaborative environment, working independently for the most part. Direction of the company often not clear. Involvement of team members in decision making processes is lacking.

    Advice to Management

Create a clear and concise plan for the future path of the company. Involve team members in decisions such as this. Schedule frequent meetings with team members to encourage a collaborative environment where each team member's opinion is valued.

I worked at Acuity Consulting full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

If you are a "billable" employee you will be rewarded and protected, even if you are actually costing the company money.

    Cons

Despite several changes at the top leadership continues to operate from inside their bubble. Pay cuts and layoffs unevenly targeted staff who were not part of the problem while others remained untouchable.

    Advice to Management

They've heard it again and again but remain convinced they know best and are unable to get out of their own way.

Small companies often are a good choice are a good choice because of the breadth and depth of knowledge that is required of every individual on the team.

Top management lacks basic knowledge in accounting, information systems and consulting services beyond the Air Force. The focus appears to be going after contracts just because their business category qualifies them to do so; not because they have the expertise to provide excellent consulting services.

Retire and hire expertise beyond their social circle.
