I worked at Adams Remco full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

You don't have to work much... lot of vacation, sick time, and personal time. You pretty much have no direct supervision. as long as you do your job, they don't really care. You'll be home by 3:30-4pm almost daily.

Lot of friendly people to work with, everyone gets along and openly jokes. Upper Management is a different story.

    Cons

Everyone doesn't seem to mind the fact that their pay isn't compatible to similar companies, because they don't "expect" as much as other company. (the model seems company wide, managers included) As far as the owner or CEO goes. he does not seem to care about his employees, spends most of his time in is RV (which sits in the parking lot). If you want to go far in the company you better be related and hurry up because they refuse to get the times. Sometimes going into work is like traveling back in time. I don't expect this company to last 10 more years. Oh yeah. be prepared to pay for your own company christmas party, drive your own car, buy your own supplies and use your own computer.

    Advice to Management

the owner/CEO needs to treat his employees with respect and stop giving special treatment to family/friends.
Stop micro managing everyone. pay less attention to the STRICT dress code and more attention what businesses in the 21st Century really need.

Seems like they want to create four positions for something that could be taken care of with one hard working person, a bunch of people with little tasks making little money.
Less employees with better pay that actually WANT to work.

I have been working at Adams Remco full-time

    Pros

You basically work your own schedule and no one really bothers you about anything.

    Cons

No one bothers you about anything. Management is completely hands off and doesn't help employee reach potential. There is limited to no actual training on the products they sell. I was hired, given some online training to do, then basically turn loose on my own to "figure it out" as my manager put it.

    Advice to Management

    get involved in your company.

    Pros

    There are no pros, none.

    Cons

Poor management, stagnant salaries that start below average. Many have not had a raise since cuts in 2008 and 2009. Plenty of money for officers of the family owned company, none to pay employees what they are worth.

    Advice to Management

Sell, or make it an employee owned company, they would run it better than absentee figureheads.

I worked at Adams Remco full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Good work atmosphere
    Really liked my co-workers
Feeling of satisfaction when you help clients
Good beliefs and values from the company as a whole

    Cons

Too much emphasis on appearance (E.g. Slightly scuffed shoes are an issue for service technicians)
    Low pay
Told "you have lots of freedom"... but I was monitored very closely, and if I made one decision my boss disagreed with, I had to do it his way.
You basically have no vacation time until you've worked a year; their vacation system is calendar-based and you earn days based on how long you worked in the previous year.
    Outdated technology and work practices
There is no room for advancement. Promotions are entirely seniority-based, and the people in management have been with the company for many, many years.

    Advice to Management

Loosen the reigns. Focus on making your employees happy, and they will want to do a good job. Do not fear change. Upgrade. Give your employees vacation time within the first year! They can still accrue time on a per-month basis, but the calendar system makes no sense and makes it very hard to retain new employees.
