I have been working at Adaptive Insights full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - Over the years, HR and Management have listened to my concerns and have always worked with me to find a positive outcome to any questions addressed to them
    - There are always new challenges to overcome, but it keeps the job exciting
    - Benefits are very fair and the cost is a minimum
    - 401k match exists but could use a bump in %
    - For my department, work from home is fine as long as you get your work done
    - They will fight to keep the employees that show the founder mentality

    Cons

    - Communication sometimes lacks from directors down to individual contributors
    - The acquisition by WDAY has left lot of departments in limbo
    - They are night hiring nearly fast enough to keep up with work demand

    Advice to Management

    - Please keep up with hiring so that your current employees are not being overworked.
    - Make sure you junior employees are promoted when they deserve it to keep the great employees we have.

I have been working at Adaptive Insights full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Prior to Wday purchase of us it seemed promising (except for the bizarre and extremely unusual comp plan AI has) we were told not much would change at AI.

    Cons

Since the acquisition were being gutted from the top down. Wondering what dept will be hit next. The addition release of how much C level and VP’s received off the deal wouldn’t sting so bad if some of it was filtered down to the employee who helped get you there.

    Advice to Management

Be honest from the beginning so we don’t end up lying to our customers on how things will remain SOP.

I worked at Adaptive Insights full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Adaptive offers a great product that's been proven a success - powerful, easy to use, and constantly improving. Additionally, most of the people are fantastic to work with. There are free lunches and sandwich bars every Monday and Friday and a good range of snacks. They were working on improving the quality (moving to healthier options) which was definitely appreciated. Leadership is very strong and will lead the company to great places. Overall, I had a good experience with the company but saw some major room for improvement.

    Cons

The benefits offered were definitely not on par to other companies, though the compensation was decent. No 401k matching and pretty pricey insurance options.

The director level management could also use some training in how to properly manage. Lots of favoritism, micromanagement, belittling, and bullying happened that drove many people away from an otherwise solid team.

Lastly, I found that there was a pretty big work-a-holic culture. No emphasis on taking personal time off and there was always a pressure to work full 10-hour days every single day. It was exhausting and frankly quite unnecessary.

    Advice to Management

Invest in quality managers and pay attention to why there is massive turnover in a team. Put more emphasis on work-life balance; I understand that going IPO there is hard work that needs to be put in but if you aren't conscientious about how much your teams are working, they will burn out and they will leave. Continue with the great upper leadership overall but lend some training to/more observation of managers and directors, especially with how they're treating their employees.
