    Pros

Employees Are the greatest Asset and are driven to satisfy customers - very caring And hardworking Team !!

    Cons

Great opportunity but with rapid growth there seems to never be enough time or resources !

    Advice to Management

I worked at Adaptive Micro Systems full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Has some new products in the transportation market.

    Cons

Balance of products very outdated. The company trying to compete with 10+ year products in higher tech area.

    Advice to Management

Develop a 1, 3, and 5 year plan to understand and drive company direction, products, and markets. AMS tries to react to any product and market opportunities presented, whether it aligns with the current business or not.

I have been working at Adaptive Micro Systems full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The potential for this company to grow is tremendous and for the most part everyone is very nice to work with.

    Cons

The company does not invest in or value its employees. Everyone is expected to fulfill multiple roles and is spread way too thin. There is no vision or direction so everything is reactive which results in low morale and high turn over. When someone leaves the company management does not backfill the position. They expect the remaining employees to pick up the additional work. The company is lacking vital resources which directly impacts sales.

    Advice to Management

Take a step back and create a strategic plan to rebuild the company rather than simply focusing on monthly numbers. It's one thing to be frugal but to project an image of being cheap is not impressive with customers. Invest in resources to bring the company into the 21st century. Develop actual departments (HR, Finance, Marketing, etc) and define specific roles and responsibilities. Invest in your employees (raises, 401K contribution, etc) and create an brand image that is consistent.

I worked at Adaptive Micro Systems full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Got paid on time, flexible hours, no weekends or holidays. Vacation and paid holiday time is very good. It was a job.

    Cons

The atmosphere of the company was horrible! You can hear a pin drop. They do not want to change with the times and the people that have been there forever run the company, not the President. Stay away!

    Advice to Management

Get with the times! EVERYTHING about the company is OLD! Get management that will manage people!

    Pros

Nice group of people to work with from my experience although people in production have a different opinion. You can get a good level of troubleshooting and test apps experience.

    Cons

Product test instruction are sometime outdated or missing information so you have to rely on tribal knowledge. Not all schematics are available in electronic form, pay is not that good for what you do. It seems that many customers know how to haggle the this company for free parts, resulting in a very low profit margin.

    Advice to Management

It's time to convert old schematics to electronic form for ease of use. Update old OTI's so people don't waste time gathering information to get the job done. Stop customers from stealing the profit so everyone can make a decent living. Gathering product information is to scattered to be efficient.

I worked at Adaptive Micro Systems full-time

    Pros

They paid you on time. That is about the only pro to take away from this experience. There were very very few positive things about the job or the company.

    Cons

No training, low pay, terrible company culture, no opportunities for growth, unfairly treated, refusing to change and adapt to the 21 century, the technicians did not care about the customers at all. Don't work here.

    Advice to Management

You have to keep up with the changing times. Stop having "secret" meetings with management. Inform your employees of what is going on and stop lying to them. The company will continue to fail unless you start changing the way you do business. Invest in your employees.

    Pros

The past three years Adaptive has shown great promise getting back to it's core business and supporting its customers.

    Cons

It's a business in a very competitive business arena, competing with offshore companies. Time will tell how adaptive survives?

    Advice to Management

Keep focusing on end-users in supporting the product, and pass the rewards to the employees.

I worked at Adaptive Micro Systems full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Opportunity to work with state of the art technology

    Cons

Import competitors have flooded the market, makes it hard to grow.

    Advice to Management

Focus on niche opportunities, that's what built the company originally. Torouble came when the company tried to be all things to all poeple

    Pros

I like the people I work with and the benefits are basically OK. Pretty easy to get to from anywhere in the Milwaukee area.

    Cons

Management doesn't seem to know where to focus its efforts. The product has a lot of problems, but no one ever seems to solve them. Trying to give customers good technical service advice is hard because its hard to get answers from the other engineers and techs. The staff seems to get smaller everyday, and its hard to keep up with all the customer calls. People who've worked there a long time are always talking about how good it used to be.
