    Pros

    Advice to Management

Recognize and Reward outstanding employees more.

    Positive Outlook

    Pros

The past three years Adaptive has shown great promise getting back to it's core business and supporting its customers.

    Cons

It's a business in a very competitive business arena, competing with offshore companies. Time will tell how adaptive survives?

    Advice to Management

Keep focusing on end-users in supporting the product, and pass the rewards to the employees.

I worked at Adaptive Micro Systems full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Opportunity to work with state of the art technology

    Cons

Import competitors have flooded the market, makes it hard to grow.

    Advice to Management

Focus on niche opportunities, that's what built the company originally. Torouble came when the company tried to be all things to all poeple

    Pros

I like the people I work with and the benefits are basically OK. Pretty easy to get to from anywhere in the Milwaukee area.

    Cons

Management doesn't seem to know where to focus its efforts. The product has a lot of problems, but no one ever seems to solve them. Trying to give customers good technical service advice is hard because its hard to get answers from the other engineers and techs. The staff seems to get smaller everyday, and its hard to keep up with all the customer calls. People who've worked there a long time are always talking about how good it used to be.

I worked at Adaptive Micro Systems full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great Employees. Potential to gain more sales with proper leadership.

    Cons

Mismanaged at the higher levels of company. No vision and very reactionary to the latest opportunity instead of identifying and becoming a LEADER in the products and markets that provide the most profitable revenue and ROI opportunity.

    Advice to Management

Get your vision and business plan for the next 1, 3, and 5 years so you have an idea of what products and markets you will become a LEADER in. Currently have no products or markets that AMS has a LEADERSHIP position and that is unacceptable for a company that has been in business as long as it has. This is the defined LEADERSHIP issue the company has. For the rest of team, I recommend you get a true business plan in place rather quickly, or the turnover will continue to be high, and even worse, the bank will own the company.

I worked at Adaptive Micro Systems full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Got paid on time, flexible hours, no weekends or holidays. Vacation and paid holiday time is very good. It was a job.

    Cons

The atmosphere of the company was horrible! You can hear a pin drop. They do not want to change with the times and the people that have been there forever run the company, not the President. Stay away!

    Advice to Management

Get with the times! EVERYTHING about the company is OLD! Get management that will manage people!

    Pros

Nice group of people to work with from my experience although people in production have a different opinion. You can get a good level of troubleshooting and test apps experience.

    Cons

Product test instruction are sometime outdated or missing information so you have to rely on tribal knowledge. Not all schematics are available in electronic form, pay is not that good for what you do. It seems that many customers know how to haggle the this company for free parts, resulting in a very low profit margin.

    Advice to Management

It's time to convert old schematics to electronic form for ease of use. Update old OTI's so people don't waste time gathering information to get the job done. Stop customers from stealing the profit so everyone can make a decent living. Gathering product information is to scattered to be efficient.

I worked at Adaptive Micro Systems full-time

    Pros

They paid you on time. That is about the only pro to take away from this experience. There were very very few positive things about the job or the company.

    Cons

No training, low pay, terrible company culture, no opportunities for growth, unfairly treated, refusing to change and adapt to the 21 century, the technicians did not care about the customers at all. Don't work here.

    Advice to Management

You have to keep up with the changing times. Stop having "secret" meetings with management. Inform your employees of what is going on and stop lying to them. The company will continue to fail unless you start changing the way you do business. Invest in your employees.
