I worked at Adchemy full-time for less than a year

    Pros

I worked at Adchemy recently in the engineering team. Although I spent only 3 months at Adchemy, I immensely enjoyed my time there. I joined the company at a juncture when it was changing directions and starting to build a brand new product from scratch. Adchemy has a very nice mix of experienced engineers with a proven track record and new grads. Although the company has been around for 7+ years, it still has a nice...

I have been working at Adchemy full-time for less than a year

    Pros

My overall experience at Adchemy has been very good so far. The hiring process was swift and smooth. I met with a good number of people, including the CEO. They were very friendly and excited about what Adchemy was doing. My hiring manager did a great job in addressing my concerns and gave candid answers to all of my questions and concerns. The offer was fairly competitive. I am a member of the research group. It...

I worked at Adchemy full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Lunch provided for 4 days a week snacks happy hour

    Cons

Never made any profit - or for that fact enough revenue in one quarter to pay salary for entire year for one employee Extremely political - managers run the show - need to act like a pet to the manager Firing is extremely common - people who have worked for over four years and performed were fired for no good reason Company is shrinking not growing - at one point there was team in PH with 50 people, most of them are...

    Advice to Management

Firing engineers is not going to solve your problems - CEO needs to step up, rather than roaming around the office asking for status Make managers accountable

I worked at Adchemy full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Lunch 4 days a week Breakfast on Wed, snacks Salary is competitve Good idea has funding, even though they never made any profit even after 7 years

    Cons

Too many politics - you need to nod your head to upper level manager/directors. If you disagree(even for differences in design approaches) then they take it personally and will try to get you out - most of them are fired For a 130 people company about half of them are directors/managers, who never code or contribute anything except micromanaging and adding road blocks They say it is a start-up company - but lack the...

    Pros

    - Free Salad every MTWThu - Can't think of any

    Cons

Upper management changes every quarter. People are leaving almost every week. Some good guys are still sticking around with hope of company getting bought by big fish but it isn't going to happen. The company is totally running on funding only. Take the funding out, the company will fall in 1 month. Microsoft have already lost their hopes from the company because the company is 1year behind to what it committed 2 year...

    No opinion of CEO

I have been working at Adchemy full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good compensation and benefits, lots of good free food, warm team environment. lots of opportunities to take on more responsibility. Incredibly smart, talented people. Company finally seems to have good direction after some time in the weeds.

    Cons

Not all teams have the same feel, ours is probably the most fun and fulfilling. Heavy work load that breeds a culture of never unplugging.

    Advice to Management

More lower level employees are necessary to balance the workload. Focus on one area to grow the company.
