I have been working at Adchemy full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Catered lunches, convenient office space, some very smart people.

    Cons

Company has been around for 8 years -- that's pretty old for a "start up" ... and still waiting to hit. Strategy constantly changing in a way that seems to make it difficult to gain real traction. Actions unit in particular is struggling. Very data driven culture, and big on "testing" and numbers. Can feel quite political in some groups.

I have been working at Adchemy full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    1. you get to work (if you are lucky) with few talented people 2. smart folks in Research/BI group 3. free food twice a week and bagel once a week for breakfast

    Cons

    1. everyone wants to step on others to take up the next position 2. environment is always tensed 3. layoff are quite common 4. company has changed the strategy 10 times in the last 3 years... duh! 5. too much of politics, feels like being with a government department 6. too much of micro-management (starting from CEO) 7. product team doesn't have any say — its pure engineering driven company 8. very thick upper...

I worked at Adchemy full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Smart and friendly people. Sense of excitement. Flexible hours; half the company arrives after 10am. Very good catered lunches 2x/wk. Happy hour on Friday (but participation is spotty). Comp and benefits are fair.

    Cons

Passive aggressive culture. Pass the blame game. Lots of 'secret nicknames' for people. Constantly shifting focus. HR was not valued, lot of turnover (may be changing).

    Advice to Management

    Re-evaluate the management chain.

I worked at Adchemy full-time for more than a year

    Pros

There are intelligent people (although maybe not very effective) The company has a compelling vision and a real market opportunity Good pay and benefits

    Cons

Very hard to get things done. Things move very slowly. A great deal of turnover. People are always leaving. It is hard to recruit people due to the company's poor reputation issues. Company has raised a lot of money and it may be hard for employees to get much value in an exit People are generally not happy and don't have faith in upper management

    Advice to Management

Be the change you want to see in the company
