I have been working at Addus Healthcare part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

They have a flexible schedule as well as a wide variety of clients. You can bring your own client to the Addus and work for them.

    Cons

Can't get a hold of supervisors, not enough stuff being professional. Can't get more hours only part time work

    Advice to Management

I really hope you all get your management together to help your employees. Can seem to speak with a supervisor to address my concerns.

I have been working at Addus Healthcare (More than 10 years)

    Pros

the salary is great and so are the benefits for this area. You also get vacation pay which is nice.,

    Cons

office staff needs to be professional also and not so rude. We are to be professionals when out in the homes of clients.

    Advice to Management

get your noses out of your ***** and do what you preach to caregivers, return calls to clients. I have lost several clients due to management not returning the calls.

    Pros

Choosing when you get to work

    Cons

A lot of the other employees would say nasty things behind their clients backs, and over all it felt like there was no structure to the company.

I worked at Addus Healthcare part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Working with my clients, providing companionship and getting to know different people from different places.

    Cons

They would change my schedule last minute. 5 cent raise every year. Union dues. I had 4 clients working 30 hours a week but would not give time and a half for working holidays, because i didn't work 32 hours weekly :-/

    Advice to Management

    No more union dues
The union didn't do any justice

I have been working at Addus Healthcare full-time

    Pros

At this point the only Pro to this job is the clients.

    Cons

We are severely over-worked lately, every Branch Director left for the same competitor and services coordinators and some of the most reliable caregivers are following them out the door. This has always been a fast paced environment and the few of us left consider ourselves up to the challenge.

    Advice to Management

We understand with the recent changes at the top and the branch director turnover something is or was not going well, but those of us still with the company are loyal and hard workers. If the company is sold to LHC Group we will be bullied and forced by their state director to push our clients to skilled services whether they need it or want it just like she did before when we were all really still Addus. Business is business but the rest of us will be looking for new jobs before we get caught up in all the complaints and investigations she'll cause. Especially since all the old directors are familiar with her tactics.

I worked at Addus Healthcare (More than 3 years)

    Pros

There are a few bright, well intended people in corporate leadership and there are many dedicated managers and line staff across the nation truly trying to make a difference in the lives of those Addus serves.

    Cons

Unrealistic expectations with a strategic plan that seems to change every few weeks. Favoritism is rampant and the culture in the corporate office is very poor and even hostile at times. Months go by with key positions left vacant and others' workloads become unrealistic or important tasks just don't get completed. Limited room for advancement in the branches.

    Advice to Management

Change needs to be made at the highest levels, CEO (looks like this happened), COO and possibly more. Choose a direction and a strategic goal and stick with those. Do a much better job of appreciating your staff. Speak to all people with respect and follow your mission of "keeping your promises."
