I have been working at Aderant full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    -Amazing and intelligent people
    -Executive Team really does care
-Global company with lots of room to grow

    Cons

    -Location is only "ok"
    -Communication between departments could improve
    -Benefits change almost yearly
-Growth opportunities are hard to hear about/find out about

    Advice to Management

-a lot of departments want to HEAR from others, but not take the time to SPEAK to others.
-Many people managers who are brilliant and hard working, but not MANAGER material - they don't think the manager/people management side of things is important.
-Managers need to stop thinking that their employees will stay in the same role forever. A few managers are really amazing at encouraging new opportunities, others treat the idea like some kind of personal insult.

I have been working at Aderant full-time

    Pros

The people at Aderant are lovely

    Cons

Benefits are not great. No maternity leave, barely any PTO or holidays

    Advice to Management

    Don't micromanage your employees

I have been working at Aderant (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Fast-paced environment allows you to learn things quickly.
    - Lots of talented people to get help from
    - Constant training to keep people up to date with latest skills/technologies.
    - Good for gaining your skill sets if you are keen to learn.

    Cons

    - Lack of communication. Usually, in most other companies, such lack of communication doesn't really affect your day-to-day jobs, but in this company, its effects are pushed down through to them and put extra stress. Also, it nurtures disbelief about the company's vision and the management team.
    - Lack of Career help. Managers or the executives don't seem to have passion for growing their employees. This doesn't necessarily mean promotions/rewards. It is about finding what employees lack and how to nurture them to advance their skills/experience. They merely want jobs done and that's pretty much it.

    Advice to Management

    - Communicate, not merely tell facts to people. If you can't communicate, find ways to minimize the effects of lack of communication on employees. (particularly management's bad decisions/confusion coming down the way)
    - Passionate, skilled individual employees want to grow their skills/experiences and possibly get promoted/rewarded for their hard work. Try to find ways to meet this demand to keep them motivated and proud of their work.

"High Turnover Outfit with Poor Employee Investment"

I worked at Aderant full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

-Open door policy with most C-level staff and VPs
-Minimal micro-management with ability to occasionally work from home
-Relaxed office environment and dress code
-Year end bonuses based on personal merit and company financial performance
-CEO seems to be aware of existing issues and has a desire to correct them, (CON)but has to answer to the revolving door of investment firms constantly buying and selling the company and who only care about generating new revenue and market share.

    Cons

    -Low pay
-Product updates are often released with minimal to no quality assurance
-Lack of development staff to handle bugs and new feature development
-Lack of support, resources, or knowledge of the existing product due to thin resources, high turnover, and poor knowledge transfer
-"Every person for themself" type mentality with poor communication between departments or even within the same teams
    -Very little investment in employees
-Inadequate, and sometimes no, training or on-boarding for new hires
-Extremely high turnover at all levels
-Products are overly customized for clients, frequently with poorly designed and commented code that often breaks when applying updates and is very difficult to maintain
-Foundation of software is based on antiquated code from the 90s that the company puts little effort into updating

    Advice to Management

Customize less and configure more. Don't be short sighted and afraid to tell clients "no". Put a hold on new feature development and throw yourself wholeheartedly into cleaning up the existing product. Then look at the rest of my cons and address accordingly.

Aderant is in a death spiral and you know it. Most customers are unhappy and merely bound by legacy investment in the product and lack of competitive options. If the latter ever changes, Aderant will be left behind.

    Pros

Great benefits, reasonable work life balance, Good team. Everyone I worked with was professional and fun to work with.

    Cons

Rigid hiring rubric. expect an IQ test. little value placed on experience in the support team. they don't seem to value their support team very highly. once you get in the job is great.

    Advice to Management

retention of employees is difficult in support due to the low compensation. with our client base that could become a problem.

    Pros

The software is a solid market player and there is good opportunity there.

    Cons

Sales executives within the organization are not set up for success, and they are often not properly supported.
