I have been working at Administrative Office of the Courts full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Like other state jobs, there is good job security, health insurance and a pension.

    Cons

State of Washington Department of Personnel conducted a review in 2018 and found that IT staff was underpaid relative to private industry. Almost all other state agencies have given their IT staff raises to make them competitive. AOC has not.

    Pros

Flex schedule, good benefits but kind of expensive

    Cons

No guidance from mangers. Poor communication, special treatment of some employees. Upper management needs complete overhaul.

    Advice to Management

Treat employees with respect. Watch how tax payer dollars are being spent.

I have been working at Administrative Office of the Courts full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

People smile in front of you.

    Cons

There are gang like activities and bullying that goes on. But, it is ok, if the executives like the gang leaders. Sabotage is the name of the game. Try to do the right thing but is not kosher with the gang member? Beware! If you throw a party with nothing related to work, wasting government funds, they promote you!

    Advice to Management

This place needs a full overhaul. There needs to be some audit of this place because they are using congressional appropriations to support internal gang bullying.

I worked at Administrative Office of the Courts full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Passionate individual contributors, location, excellent pay for a state job

    Cons

Management apathy, political infighting, no internal growth potential for employees, mistrust, lack of knowledge and skills among managers

    Advice to Management

Your organization is top heavy- there should be less architects and solutions architects for an organization of your size. You need managers that can actually manage and care about growing their employees. Apathy and political infighting and active sabotage is rampant.
