I have been working at Adolescent Growth full-time for less than a year

    Pros

This is really important and much needed work. Weekly staff meetings are great for keeping everyone updated and provides an open space to ask questions.

    Cons

They will close facilities and cut hours with little to no warning to staff. They threaten to write up staff for little things.

    Advice to Management

Management needs better communication with the facilities and staff.

    Negative Outlook

I worked at Adolescent Growth full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Having the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of troubled adolescents.

    Cons

Do not expect support from management, competitive pay, and/or paycheck and scheduling consistency. Job announcement read different pay. When brought to HR's attention, management would not allow HR to honor their printed pay offer. It is nothing unusual to show up to work and find the business locked up and shut down. Employees are not notified in advance. Management quietly does the "client shuffle" when counts... get low. Clients are shuffled like cattle, moved to one house and employees are unexpectedly sent home for undefined amounts of time. Requested time off, even according to policy, results in denial with fictitious reasoning. The management is quick to judge and non-responsive. When you have concerns, management will run, hide, and make excuses. You must force them to talk face to face. Unfortunately, it is quite clear that money means more to management than employee or client support. No consistency of scheduling and EXTREMELY shady pay. They will call you in to cover, then renege at the last minute, only because they located a lower payed employee to cover instead. The hours you punch on the time clock never match the hours on your paycheck. You might get your check on pay day...you might not. There is no direct deposit and checks are hand delivered well after banking hours. I could go on and on.....I'm sure you get the picture. Unless you're extremely desperate, do not work for this company.

    Advice to Management

Quit bullying your employees. During my short employment, your lack of appreciation, constant suspicion (you do know that suspicion is typical rooted by personal doubt and something to hide, right?) and shady practices ran good employees off like scalded dogs. Allow employees time off without repercussion...they are SEVERELY overworked and underpaid anyway. Your banty rooster approach to management will never work.... Take heed to karma!
