    Pros

The only pros are positive employees who truly care for clients.

    Cons

The owners only care for money (as they take more than $1,000) per client per day and provide very minimal care. Upper management constantly micromanages everything and engage in unethical behavior such as recording employee conversation at the corporate office WITHOUT employee CONSENT! Owners don’t care for anything other than monetary gain and will place the blame on employees when in reality they make the... mistakes. They don’t care about their employees at all and will step on employees to gain more money. They continue with client intake even when they know the clients insurance will not pay for full 60-90 stay. They milk from insurance companies as much as they can without informing clients that their insurance may not fully cover. They accept clients based on false hope and evict (due to insurance not covering) client without notice. They prefer clients who pay cash and treat such clients much better than clients who present with insurance. They do not provide enough food at the facility. Although they say there’s 12 step, they read material unrelated to 12 step and lie in documentation. They lie to parents stating clients are doing great and are being treated well when clients are actually complaining of not being treated well. Again, these people are money hungry, unethical people and no client deserves to be treated as poorly as they treat clients and staff. They’ve also rebranded several times due to having such negative reviews!! Be aware folks! That is all!

    Pros

Friendly coworkers, great kids, and supportive team

    Cons

The upper management was atrocious. Made us do unethical things like taking pictures on cell phones of clients, wildly underpaid, had an insecure EHR, either over or underworked client care specialist staff. Suddenly having to cover staff that call out sick. shifts were either 12 hours, or 6 hours...

    Advice to Management

make three different types of shifts: AM (6am-2pm), PM (2pm-10pm) and NOC (10pm-6am). Additionally have Part time and on call employee roles. That way, regular staff won't be forced to cover if they can't.

    Pros

The clients are the best ever! An opportunity to make a impact on a young life is top here. The staff at the local level is decent and they care.

    Cons

Run Run Run!!! They(Upper Management will deceive you. They lack integrity. They are not understanding for the concerns of the staff. Micro managing at all times. Buyer Beware! You are always under the microscope even when you are hard working and doing your very best! They always find some reason to gripe on you. That is how you don't get a raise. They make sure to tag your what they call down falls. So No Raise... for you ! Real Slick to operate like that. Immates in prison get better treated than staff in this facility. No one is trying to do them in but they think people are. The California administrative staff are puppets to say the least.

    Advice to Management

Please go to training and workshops on how to make a happy workplace. This place could be magnificent for all. Management needs to take self inventory. I believe it is called Karma. It has to stop.

I worked at Adolescent Growth full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Despite the high turn over, I worked at the corporate office and had had incredible coworkers. I felt like I was making a difference for the clients even though I was behind the scenes of the facility.

    Cons

Overworked and underpaid. After a while, upper management stopped showing any kind of appreciation toward staff. no HR for so long, or one person running the department. benefits weren't great. Even when you were given a chance to train someone, they didn't give you enough time to do it thoroughly, so the result was underwhelming work, which led one to become overwhelmed by trying to correct mistakes and collect... information.

I worked at Adolescent Growth full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Loved working with the clients and getting them the help they needed.

    Cons

Upper management is horrendous. Management are petty, rude and unhelpful. They transfer employees and clients to different facilities with no notice or permission. Managment threaten to fire employees if they dispute being transferred. They do not give employees breaks and will take a lunch break out of employees time card even when no lunch was taken. They do provide enough coverage for employees to take... breaks or lunches on time and do not pay overtime when lunches are taken after the 5 hour mark which is illegal according to California state law. Management has horrible communication and does not schedule according to availability. Management cut hours of employees who disputed the incorrect schedules and threatened to fire employees for asking to take time off.

I worked at Adolescent Growth full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    - Families and clients that you get to work with. - Therapeutic model for groups, family restoration groups - Co workers who are mostly hard working - Stepping-stone for therapeutic experience as clinician

    Cons

    - Abnormal fast turn-over for employees - Lack of training for new employees - Sub-par employee benefits - Due to upper management wearing multiple hats, supervision/support is sparse - Clinician support is limited as supervisior is not available at times - Overtime work that cannot be approved by upper management - Unethnical practices at times, excused as temporary but challenges your ethical dilemma.

    Advice to Management

Stabilize infrastructure by closing down houses if needed to build stronger foundation employees can grow from. Business agenda is understood but if it challenges ethical practices, it is extremely problematic and employees will always be revolving door.

    Approves of CEO

I have been working at Adolescent Growth full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Smaller company (good and bad), ability to help people in their time of need, mostly good coworkers who believe in the ultimate purpose of the company. Interaction with clients and making a difference in their lives.

    Cons

Overworked, pay not competitive, upper management extremely difficult to work with, lack of communication from top down, lack of consistency with policies/rules, forced to travel to other locations without reimbursement and with our own vehicles, no direct deposit sometimes resulting in late paychecks, very few to no staff appreciation programs/events, disorganized, emotional decision making by management.

    Advice to Management

Compile a team of managers you can trust for checks and balances. Increase pay to retain more staff. Don't lose focus on the ultimate goal. Remember that your employees have lives too and must provide for their families. Provide better benefits that will ultimately help keep your employees (401k with match).

    Pros

The company allows you to drive the company cars to visit the facilities. So you do not have to waste miles and gas on your own car.

    Cons

The company does NOT pay it's employees what they are worth. They start them out with Low pay and then expect them to "perform" well so they can make more money in 6 months. More money is usually $1-$3 more an hour or no raise at all. Ugh. but you don't find that out till your 6 months. There is a lot of false promises and many lies during the interview process and even while being an employee. The business is ran... terribly and the owners use the upper management to do their dirty work. To anyone who is reading this do not waste your time on the interview and to anyone who is still an employee get out now. There are companies that will pay you what you are worth and value you as a employee.

    I worked at Adolescent Growth

    Pros

The floor staff, LVN, and clinical staff are incredible. They are the only reason this place works, they put their hearts into what they do for these kids.

    Cons

Upper management is an absolute nightmare. They will continue to shame you and make you feel inadequate at what you do. I witnessed multiple staff members cry while a work due to their cruel treatment. They over work their staff in pretty terrible conditions. They mercilessly continue to bill insurance even when the kids no longer need to be in treatment, and they do not put any of that money back into the company.... One example is that they do not order adequate amount of food per ratio of clients, the kids even complain to their families that there is never enough food. Staff will buy food/supplies for the kids out of their own pockets because they care... the same cannot be said about the owners of this company! Be prepared to repeatedly be written up on false charges that HR blows out of proportion. They are covering themselves because probably so many employees have sued them. They will do anything in their power to make you look like the bad guy so you have no chance of winning a case against them. Turn over rate in employees is VERY high. Most do not leave on good terms. Working in this environment was very stressful. Most of the stress was directly added by management.
