    Pros

Great vision, capable senior management, great professional growth if you are willing to take on more responsibility, decent renumeration, AWESOME people.

    Cons

Almost all policies are knee-jerk reaction, not enough planning, forethought, roll and implementation - very shabby exectuion when rolling out policies. Too many direction changes all the time.
Sr Management will typically wait untill the person is willing to walk out to give them credit.

As a result of this - the company morale suffers.

    Advice to Management

Listen to what your people are saying, Take notice of the talent you have and show your appreciation by actions sooner than later else you will end up losing good talent.
Mingle more with them to improve company morale.

    Pros

Very close relationship to Microsoft. Ability to work on some interesting inside projects with Microsoft. Support with work/life balance. Very flexible work environment as long as the work gets done.

    Cons

Salaries no longer competitive. Microsoft only focus, needs to create urgently some own IP and put real effort and time behind it. Better support for remote employees.

    Advice to Management

They need to be more open to alternative places to operate than Kirkland office - we promote UC after all. Need to devote money/time/persons to expand business to new areas.

I have been working at Advaiya full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I currently work for Advaiya doing contract work. The pay rate is reasonable and fair, my contact at the company is likeable enough, the health care company and associated benefits are fine (actually better than fine), the dental insurance is average (meaning not that great), and there haven't been any surprises, other than the one (and it is a big one) that I list in the 'con' section.

    Cons

At lunch, a couple of coworkers let me know that Advaiya does not payout accrued vacation. You either use it or lose it. I was convinced that that was not legal but now know that in Washington state nothing prevents a company from not paying out vacation when an employee leaves. Advaiya is the first company that I've ever heard of doing that. I strongly object to it as I consider my vacation hours as an earned benefit that should not be terminated if I were to leave the company voluntarily or involuntarily (as the case may be).

For this reason, if I were doing it over again, I'd either negotiate that up front with Advaiya to include it in my employee or agreement, or I'd look for another company. It truly is outrageous.

    Advice to Management

Continue the great medical benefits. Upgrade dental benefits. And change your accrued vacation policy so that it is paid out when an employee leaves. I still rate the company a good place to work and expect a good year in the coming year.

    Pros

Might be a good place for someone starting a career but don't stay there. Too many other options of well run businesses to learn from.

    Cons

Management was clueless. They worried more about acting like a big business (which they aren't) vs deliverying quality work. They had mandatory meetings for the sake of having meetings. The meetings were useless and were deemed more important than meeting with a client.

    Pros

Being close to Microsoft, working directly for internal Microsoft projects and initiatives.

    Cons

Advaiya follows Microsoft. They have no direction other than to feed off the whims of Microsoft preferred vendor captial projects. There is no hope for any sustainable growth at Advaiya.

    Advice to Management

Develop a high-end BPM, UC or BI practice around Microsoft technology. Alternatively, develop relationships with other large vendors for pre-sales and marketing services.
