I have been working at Advance Auto Parts part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Amazing coworkers, no micromanaging, time to self

    Cons

Express desire for advancement, get swept under the rug. Told there insnt enough hours for me, then pulled another driver from a different store and gave them more hours than me

    Advice to Management

Favoritism isn't a good form of business... Should be what you know/contribute that gets you ahead, not whom you're friends with.

    Cons

No room for growth, low wages, and pay increases do not even come close to inflation.

    Pros

Engage in customers needs in a meaningful way. Never will have the same thing twice.

    Cons

The meaning is going away as the business model has been obsolete and is continuing to become more obsolete. They also don't value their employees.

    Advice to Management

Know what you are doing. What is a car symbolically? What is it. How did culture change when it came along. Read Fitzgerald's " Echoes of the Jazz Age" to catch my drift. Where else can you expand your customer's freedom? Only then will your stock increase.

    Pros

    The money, that's it. Seriously.

    Cons

Upper management, like the district leaders. They fail to help the stores that are literally calling every day begging for help.

    Advice to Management

My advice to management, start caring. When you have an assistant manager calling you constantly asking for you to step in because the store manager isn't helping, comes in for 2 hours and then leaves and their still getting paid because their salary yet you yell when other people go into over time when their actually doing their job plus some because other people don't show up or don't care. All you guys care about is making numbers but when that doesn't happen you point the fingers at other yet fail to realize you play a part too.

    Pros

They offer jobs to people who might have problems getting them somewhere else. They have gone away from Drug test and back ground checks. If you have a full or part time job it is easy to work around your schedule to work at Advance

    Cons

They just had a massive lay off in top management and the chance of promotion now is very Minimal. They do not know where they are going as a company right now

    Advice to Management

A need for good, clear honest communication is must.
