    Pros

Company is flexible with schedules and a lot of nice coworkers

    Cons

Benefits for healthcare is lousy and trying to push cultural atmosphere too hard as seems only foreigners and women are now being hired to prove point. Yearly increases are not great.

Team events on corp campus would be nice.

I have been working at Advance Auto Parts part-time

    Pros

GM and below in the individual stores seem pretty decent. Proper training and the time to do it would help with turnover rate, along with better pay. Subway, Wal-mart , Wing Stop, all start out at a higher pay rate.

    Cons

In my area, Advance starts employees at $8.50 an hour, which probably is the lowest pay of any retail store in my area. No time to really train/watch videos. DM's are either really good or really bad. No consistency in management and corporate seems to keep stores in the dark about what is going on. This company is not a career oriented company. It appears that the longest span of employment is about 10 years before employees either get feed up or see the company for what they really are.

    Advice to Management

Why do you take commercial accounts away from profit-making stores along with their vehicle and yet make them keep their corporate sales goal, really? WTF? Need to go back to your roots and start caring about the people who work for you, not just profits for the CEO and board of directors, because that's how it looks to your employees.

    Pros

I love helping people! And figuring out what a customer needs. No one knows everything, so we learn something new everyday.

    Cons

I have been working at Advance Auto Parts full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Little to no pros lately

    Cons

Title is sales manager because I’m no longer a GM in my eyes, I’m a sales person who’s highest in charge. I spend more time on the counter, rather than making sure tasks are done, coaching and training sales associates. Maybe that’s because we are forced to run on skeleton crews due to hour cuts.

Horrible communication within upper management and departments (left hand doesn’t talk to right hand).

Customers are now a second thought to shareholders and employees are even lower.

Stores expected to run on skeleton crews while doing the task of a full staff. Lunches are impossible to run and nobody takes them usually. Tasks aren’t completed then criticized for not doing them.

Pay is a JOKE, even if you’re a GM... “hire quality staff” for $8.50 an hour... then wonder why we can’t get anyone worth the knowledge they have. Plus once you do, you get MAYBE 5 hrs a week to train them.

Constantly changing things that aren’t broken!!

    THERES MORE... MUCH MORE!!

    Advice to Management

Stop managing to the downward spiral, it’s only making things worse.

Pay your employees like you care, you might actually get some quality talent you can keep.

Cut your useless bloated corporate employees who really don’t know a damn thing about AAP!

HELP US (EMPLOYEES) HELP YOU!!! Stop making it so damn hard to serve customers and enjoy working here, most of us really used to like it!
SELL MORE PARTS, HAVE MORE FUN... remember that?!?!?!
