    Pros

Pay is good. Great co workers. Flexibility.

    Cons

No work life balance. Good old boys network. Incompetent leadership. They aren't car guys. They bring their friends and don't know or understand automotive aftermarket retail. Leaders establish initiatives yet everyone else suffers.

    Advice to Management

Stop wasting money on consultants and prioritze your initiatives. Bring in car guys at the executive level. This business is not the same as other retailers.

I have been working at Advance Auto Parts full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The roanoke facility has ping pong tables, walking space, and cafateria. For the most part you are aorking with good people.

    Cons

This company is still an old school boys club. There is not much room for advancement for a woman, and if you are colored then just forget about it. If you are a young person in the Roanoke office the best piece of advice I can give you is to move someqhere else if you are trying to build your career. Roanoke is beautiful but the area and especially advance is not going to help you grow. More managers than actual workers and promoting from within the company does not exist at the store support center. They will go for an outside hire. If you want to advance then you will need to leave and come back. This company makes a lot of promises but there is no action and it is making some very good people go. The low pay and emvironment is not worth it.

    Advice to Management

    Promote from within.
Align on company goals and startegies and stick with it
Work to enhance your field team by being less top heavy, having leadership that understands the business, focus on cutomer interaction, and stay abreast with changes in the market and economy ie technology, what you are selling, new business
    Work on rebranding
    Better company culture
