I have been working at Advance Services full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I have been a full-time employer via ASI and I have never been happier in a work environment. My recruiter had an equal interest in employing me as well as filling vacancies for her clients. I applied for a specific high level job I had heard about through a friend. I was put on a waiting list for that specific job and within about 6 or 7 months I was contacted. After talks back and forth with ASI's client and 2 interviews I was hired and have not looked back.

    Cons

I really have not had a bad experience in the 10 months I have worked for ASI.

    Advice to Management

It is my humble opinion Jeanette deserves to be awarded for the hard work and amazing job she does. Always great to see her in the office.

I worked at Advance Services full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

After you identify the real organization, I am not sure there are any true pros.

    Cons

You should know that you will be expendable to the organization. If you are not family you should watch your back and be prepared to be called onto the carpet. My experience has been one of great disappointment. Working at one of the largest offices our book of business was signifiant but if a family member disliked you then you are on the black list. Training was little to none and when you ask questions I was told that someone else would handle it. On the surface it appears to be a great company but once you start to dig in you will find otherwise. This is true for many organizations. However when you attempt to hide it to the extend that they do... well that is the real problem.

    Advice to Management

Step into the light. Take light into all of the dark corners and start developing a company with resources with skills and talent not just family members.

I have been working at Advance Services full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great, friendly work environment where you have a set of objectives and are expected to meet those expectations with being micro managed. Trust and freedom to work while being treated like a co-worker by upper management is the best environment for any individual given the daily struggles of ones personal life. This makes for a relaxing atmosphere where you want to work for the company because they make it comfortable for you.

    Cons

I have had zero issues since being employed by ASI. No cons.

    Advice to Management

No advice. My direct supervisors contact me when necessary. I work for them and don't need a baby sitter. They are the best management team I've ever been associated with. Same goes for the company I am contracted to, Union Pacific.

I worked at Advance Services full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

I worked at the downtown Omaha office for over 12 years. There is about 30 people working there. The atmosphere is friendly, and professional.
The work in my department was fast paced, challenging and could be stressful, but I enjoyed it.
ASI and UPRR always treated me well.

    Cons

I suppose all jobs have their cons, but I can't think of any.

I worked at Advance Services full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

You will gain a lot of experience in Human Resources in a short amount of time. You will also perfect your ability to multi-task!

    Cons

Do not take this job if you do not enjoy cold-calling, and going to business unannounced trying to sell your services. You will hear "no" many more times than you will hear "yes"!

    Advice to Management

The position was salaried, and to be honest the pay was not great, especially when you factor in how many hours you are working. Consider a increase in pay or transition staff to hourly

    Pros

Small enough to allow employees to try things without much approval.

    Cons

Processes are long and old-fashioned. No management support. Operates from a fear-based mentality.

    Advice to Management

Get in touch with your areas. Each state has its own unique recruiting and customer dynamics which do not always spell profit for you. The executive team has lost track of what it is like in the trenches and likes to manage by fear and intimidation. Everyone seems to be afraid of their jobs, and rightly so. Communicate with your "grunts" so you know what is going on.
