I worked at AdvancePierre Foods full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Benefits used be outstanding, but they switched to a lower quality supplier in 2017
If you aren't good at your job, you can just blame someone else for it.

    Cons

If you appreciate a work/life balance, this is NOT the place for you.
This company has become slow and cumbersome, but the management teams refuse to acknowledge this fact. They still try to act as if they can be flexible and profitable. This leads the plants to lose money year over year.

    Advice to Management

Quit letting the Business Units bully the plants into in-profitable projects. Follow the rules and operating procedures on the books instead of managing every single customer and project as an "exception". Employees cannot thrive in the current environment of management double standards. Quit rewarding the squeaky wheels in the company, and pay attention to who is actually getting the work done.

    Pros

    Advice to Management

Quit letting HR run the show.

    Current Employee - Anonymous Employee

    Pros

Good professional yet casual atmosphere. I've met some really great, intelligent people here.

    Cons

The only cons I have are specific to my manager and may not apply to other managers as a whole. Kept out of loop, never received any praise or credit for my work, his/her way or no way, did not teach me anything (all self-attained growth).

    Advice to Management

Develop leadership skills for managers. How to communicate effectively with different types of team members, how to challenge, inspire and champion their teams.
