I have been working at Advanced Energy full-time

    Pros

Terrific, knowledgeable, supportive employees in a positive atmosphere. Recent changes (last 2 years) have redirected company's focus in a very good way - people first. Also, compensation is above average and benefits are exceptional. AE has been a part of Fort Collins for a long time and glad I'm here.

    Cons

really can't think of anything worth mentioning

    Advice to Management

    Please continue the current path

I have been working at Advanced Energy full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Fast paced environment that offers the opportunity to wear multiple hats and gain experiences that may not be offered in other publicly traded, international companies. Great group of people that allow you to partner cross functionally. Change is a constant. Strong benefit package and the flexible work hours are awesome.

    Cons

Work life balance is challenging. No bonus.

    Advice to Management

More monetary recognition for lower level employees and managers would go a long way for engagement and encouragement.

    Pros

Great, smart people. People will go the extra mile for co-works and for the customer.

    Cons

Advanced Emergency. Every issue seems to be raised to crisis level, so people are often working frantically rather than intelligently.

    Advice to Management

Cut down on status updates and crisis mangement, while focusing on our vision and winning.

I worked at Advanced Energy full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Good perks at this company. Raises are few and far between as are bonuses. Lower management understand the technology and try to manage.

    Cons

upper management is controlled byt Marketing and causes disastrous changes. Constant changes in upper management leaves little knowledge of what has been done and what should be done.

    Advice to Management

listen to your employees and respect them

I worked at Advanced Energy (Less than a year)

    Pros

None. Maybe meeting the VIP whom everyone is terrified of only to find out he is 4'9'' gives you hope that if he can have people afraid and run the company, we ALL have a chance!!!!!!

    Cons

Starting with your first day you enter confusion that no one explains and no training. Just horrible place to be in Accounting and Finance Dept. Yelling is considered OK, so you just have to fend for yourself and don't allow it.

    Advice to Management

Learn what your employees actually do! Give guidance and constructive criticism only if you understand what the person actually does. Learn manners, just because Europe thinks it's OK to yell and embarrass people, not everyone will take it!

I worked at Advanced Energy full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

With any company there are good people but many are leaving or have already left. Good company for people who want to get paid for doing fancy reports and presentations and no real work. This culture will eventually impact the bottom line.

    Cons

I saw a post on this site on AE cronyism and decided to speak up because it is true. Way too much cronyism - mgmt. with no qualifications and the real achievers are or will eventually move on. Anyone can downsize a company and make it profitable in the short term. Anyone can lose valuable employees and claim its due to restructuring. High turnover is on a global scale - perhaps organizational decline? Many unqualified cronies are taking credit for ideas, work and accomplishments they had nothing to do with or managing business functions far beyond their qualifications/experience. Its unfortunate to see good, long standing, profitable businesses being eroded - its either intentional or by ignorance (result of cronyism).

    Advice to Management

AE you are losing your best talent and you are making a reputation for yourself Goodwill takes time before it shows on the bottom line. Maybe you don't care because your in it for the short term?
