Pros
Co-workers are pleasant and environment is clean and safe. Being a "Christian" organization management is friendly for the most part.
Cons
Favoritism and lack of advancement opportunities. Having worked at AdventHealth since 2013 till 2023 I put in 10 years with AdventHealth. I strated when I graduated high school. I always received excellent reviews and was a dedicated employee. I have a bachelor's degree in education from UCF, a master's in business administration from Stetson University, and master's in Healthcare Administration from AdventHealth. While attempting to advance within the organization I was constantly denied positions and the only phone calls I ever received were for the most entry level positions. Human Resources may contact you about a job only to latter cancel the position or not respond to you. Hiring is done by "Who you Know" and favoritism. I noticed many people in administrative positions, HR roles, and similar positions generally lacked advanced education or experience. For example, hiring HR staff with previous experience as a nanny or from a Target store. Whereas a veteran employee such as I with a decade of work at AdventHealth and having an advanced degree from their "OWN" university is constantly denied positions. I networked myself to recruiters and department managers and seldomly ever heard back from anyone. It is no wonder AdventHealth is now ranking 85 in Forbes best employers in Florida behind many Orlando Health and many other healthcare organizations. If you are expecting advancement or fair treatment don't expect too much. Additionally, I even met with a campus executive "one and one" in July and was questioned whether I was a Seventh Day Adventist. My experience, education, and dedication to organization was not valued. My faith questioned and judged. I am so happy that left the organization. Upon leaving after 10 years I didn't receive any gifts or even a card upon resignation. Truly a sad experience after 10 years. I left without any recognition or praise. Turned in badge to HR myself and left like another day. Additionally, benefits are poor and expensive. Google Rx Plus the AdventHealth pharmacy that is used for employees. Rx Plus has terrible reviews and their service mimics that of the treatment to that AdventHealth provides to employees (Poor).
