Nice coworkers, the manager is very sweet. The doctors are nice and easy to work with. The medical benefits are generally good if you stay within their network. The pay is good.

Cons

The workload is too much and violates ICAEL standards. They expect 8-12 echos a day. However, the true expectation is to not leave any exams over until the next day. For example, if you are doing outpatients and have 15 minutes until your next outpatient, the charge nurse will want to call an impatient down for you. They clearly do not value patient care nor the health of their sonographers. They would rather have a poor echo today than a good one tomorrow. The 401K is quite poor. They only match at the end of the year and you do not become vested until you are there for five years. If you leave after 4 years, 11 months your vesting in their contribution is zero.

I highly recommend AdventHealth Shawnee Mission. The pay is competitive, and I have the best co-workers, and management is involved and cares.

Work-life balance is hard to achieve

Average pay/ benefits. Work 3 12 hour shifts.

Cons

Constant change if you don't check email while taking care of pt,their family,.docs and etc you will.miss meetings and etc. Pt loads and acuity is high. 12 hour shifts turn into 13-14 hours. Don't always have supplys to do job. Pt satisfaction score driven..not health care.

Good pay and nice hospital to work in. Good training and excellent orientation. Felt very welcomed and supported. Open door policy. Could ask for help and express concerns.

Not enough staff nurses. Assignments were always heavy and you were run off your feet. Always too many patients and no time for breaks. Because of heavy pt load you would feel unsafe.

The pay is good. Direct supervisors are supportive and advocate for employees. Strong mission.
