DO NOT WORK HERE
Jan 24, 2023 - Anonymous Employee in Shawnee, KSRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
-Great team environment on certain shifts. -Got a lot of good experience from working here. -Certain co-workers were awesome to work with and so willing to help.
Cons
-Low pay compared to hospitals in the area -Catty managers who would talk behind your back to other employees and give out information that wasn’t okay to share. - Apparently cannot keep up with federal regulations, and does unethical activity and takes it out on the employees (cutting their pay.) -Upper management does not care about how understaffed and overworked employees are. -Pushed to the limit on how many patients nurses and PCTs could take. -Coworkers on other shifts talk behind each others backs about stuff that isn’t their business. -Willing to put people who are not ready to step into a management position into that role and are reaping the consequences. -Not willing to listen to feedback or issues that were serious that could affect patient safety. -Was always texted on days off to ask to come in, could never get a break from work. -

Low pay lots of jesus

The patients are awesome and most of the staff are as well. There are always extra shifts to pickup if you love overtime.
Cons
Management is disconnected from what any low level job is actually like. Management will ask for feedback on why everyone reports being miserable but become angry and dismissive when given real answers. We get prayers with every meeting, but the pay doesn't cover a one-bedroom apartment, even working full time. No raises based on merit so the worst employees thrive and make the same amount as the employees who are amazing.

Pros
-The staff were generally super kind and supportive -Smaller hospital system made it easier to navigate, felt like I really knew who my admin were -Hospital equipment is generally up to date and nice
Cons
-Staffing issues feel like they are slowly growing more and more severe -Upper management appears to becoming increasingly disconnected and has been making poor decisions. The AdventHealth system seems to be expanding much faster than it can safely accommodate. -Health insurance benefits are weak -Kansas bedside nurse pay sucks -Felt like I had minimal room to increase my pay. I topped out much faster than I would have liked.

Lots of opportunities to work any day of the week! Bonuses for certain shifts. Lots of opportunities for techs as well.
Cons
Being floated all over the hospital and I’m not a float nurse, and also not getting float pay. Management turnover is bad.

May 14, 2023 - Registered Nurse/Assistant Nurse ManagerRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Faith based, autonomy as a RN for patient care, ability to advance
Cons
Changing executive leadership that did not consider thoughts or opinions of frontline staff or middle management. When it officially became AdventHealth a lot of negative cultural changes were made that impacted loyal employees and patient care. Loyalty was disregarded and being a great staff and patient advocate was discouraged. If the executive leadership cared about humans at all, this would be a great place to work.
