I have been working at Advisory Board full-time for more than a year

    Pros

You get to work in a nice area of DC

    Cons

There are several types of entry level positions but I noticed the ones that paid less were disproportionately held by women of color.

I have been working at Advisory Board full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great benefits / perks Ability to work from home

    Cons

Leadership seems to be unable to follow through with proposed plans of restructuring / bettering the organization Not enough man-power to deliver promised results to clients; employees are often over worked / spread too thin on projects

"Education coordinator is basically an administrative assistant. Think less projects, more calendaring/scheduling"

I have been working at Advisory Board full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Great benefits and company events and campaigns. They're very open to feedback and do a great job on boarding and including new hires

    Cons

For an entry level position they expect a LOT of work. I don't feel the pay matches the amount of work we're expected to do.

I have been working at Advisory Board full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Smart, interesting, people that are all very young and majority women. Strong focus on professional development. The potential for growth is immense with ABC University classes, mentoring, and internal internships. Everyone you work with is very willing to help you out and see you succeed. A great place to land if you had trouble finding a job after school. Benefits are great - good insurance, can leave work early... to go work out, and volunteering is accepted and promoted.

    Cons

Most people don't like the day to day of their job (especially Associates or Coordinators). I didn't go to college to schedule meetings and complete administrative tasks for 90% of my job. A little frustrating sometimes if you had high hopes of making a lot of money right out of school - the pay is much lower than industry average.

    Advice to Management

Slow down on the push to transition out of a role right away. Focus on giving stretch roles and projects, and time to think about next steps, rather than pushing people into whatever role is first open.

I have been working at Advisory Board full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Great place to work for millennials. Very flexible hours and PTO. The benefits are unbeatable and the company hires a lot of really great smart.

    Cons

Low pay. Upward mobility has become an issue since the company is doing as well as it used to. Most Coordinators and MAs leave the firm because they find it impossible to live in DC on such an absurd salary. Leadership is also struggling and there is a lot of disconnect between the heads of several departments.

    Advice to Management

Give your entry-level staff a more competitive salary and you will retain more talent.
