I have been working at Advisory Board full-time

    Pros

For folks who are passionate about healthcare, strong communicators and work with others, confront career growth challenges, be recognized for hard work and intelligence and be trained to speak eloquently, present

    Cons

Technical teams are not trained in the same way or held to the same standards as the delivery/consulting staff but delivery ends up dealing with the pitfalls and communicating with the client on this. Management seems to avoid this concern and just hopes it get better.

    Advice to Management

Continue to be transparent and supportive of career growth, try to sustain the culture as we move into Optum.

I have been working at Advisory Board full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Junior and mid level staff have strong development opportunities. Organizational commitment to community impact. Good paid time off policies (total time off, plus time off for volunteering and exercise). Corporate culture of going the extra mile for each other and for members. Idealistic and hard working staff.

    Cons

Teams tend to have fewer resources than they need to thrive. Technology is lacking (website functionality is poor, client management software is poor). Little diversity in senior leadership team.
