I have been working at AdvizeX full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great salary, great learning experience for engineers

    Cons

Disjoined Sr Managment and limited post sales team support. There is a large portfolio of solutions but no many people that can install the solution.

    Advice to Management

    Hire more Sr Engineering staff

I worked at AdvizeX full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The ability to network with vendors to find a better job.

    Cons

Advizex was once a great company with a lot of hope for the future. Unfortunately they just started to spiral down and continue to do so. The Boston office has lost almost 20 people in the last year. The salary is very low compared to the industry average. They try to sell you on the bonus but no one can ever make the bonus. You are expected to work long hours at the drop of a hat. The workspace is extremely toxic and you can feel the complete despair of the other employees when you are there. You look at them at think will they last the year, another six months or even a week? If you're considering Advizex for your pre sales career think again. I would expect the Boston office to close by year end.

    Advice to Management

Stop letting your top talent to continue to leave the company, stop changing our bonus plans and paying us the lowest in the industry.

I worked at AdvizeX full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

AdvizeX is a great company to work for and learn if you are in IT. They are partners with three of the major technology companies, HP, EMC, and VMware. With the backing of these solutions, they design solutions for their customers. AdvizeX customer base is usually small to medium size organization, ranging from food companies to healthcare. They provide their employees with an extensive amount of training to make sure they can meet their customers expectations.

    Cons

Recently AdvizeX was aquired by Rolta. Their focus is changing to managed services. The one main problem with managed service for Rolta AdvizeX is that their customer base is small to medium size business that aren't interested in Oracle and SAP managed services. This has made it very challenging for sales and pre-sales engineers.

    Advice to Management

Stick with your sweet spot, even with the rise of the public cloud, there is still a tremendous opportunity to provide technology solutions to small and medium size business that maintain on-premise infrastructure.

    Pros

Most technical engineers are very competent. They highly invest in certifications and needed training. The post sales consultants have a broad level of knowledge. The company's executive management maintains excellent high level partnerships. The senior leadership is VERY competent. Fred (CEO) is one of the most observant people I have ever met.

    Cons

There are only a few excellent sales executives that support most of the company. Some middle managers are too narrow focused and divert blame the wrong way. Some of the areas are too lax in the way they do business. The hiring policy of the sales force especially should be stricter.

    Advice to Management

Several people sort of "slide by" without having to take responsibility for thier actions; while this happens easily in large companies, small companies need to be more responsive. Marketing and Sales should research the documentation they present to the company before releasing to the general employees.
