I worked at Advocates full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Positive Workplace Environment.
    Non-Judgemental Management.
    Progressive Outlook on Mental Health.
Agency Supports Staff At All Cases.
    Supportive Agency.
    Gratitous Earned Time.

    Cons

Lower Pay (Not exactly agencies fault)
Agency Must Place More Accountability/Discipline For Relief Staff Who No-Call/No-Show shifts.

    Advice to Management

Doing a great job in all aspects. Although you need to place more accountability for the staff who do not show up for shifts, are constantly on their phones or speaking in other languages. It is triggering for many residents who live with forms of paranoia.

    Advice to Management

They know everything so no need

I have been working at Advocates full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I must say, I started this past Monday. I have worked for servers agencies in the past.. and my god they are incredible. I am very excited to be part of such a dedicated team.

ALSO during orientation the CEO came to speak to everyone of us - asking what your background is and welcoming all of us in staff a adequet way.

    Cons

Non I think of at this time.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what your doing, brilliant.

I worked at Advocates (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Coworkers were amazing, enjoyed working with clients, good learning environment, diverse learning experience, good flexibility from some managers, plentiful supervision. Good fringe benefits like PTO and tuition reimbursement.

    Cons

Serious workplace bullying by some middle managers, major reason I left. Unsafe working conditions are minimized. Excessive paperwork.

    Advice to Management

When it was good it was great!

I worked at Advocates full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The mission - despite lots of watering down recently. The people we serve are great, but that is not the agency focus.

    Cons

Management is so toxic - rude, disrespectful, only looking out for their own jobs and they take credit for your ideas and bad mouth you.

    Advice to Management

Get an outside consultant to talk to front line staff and look closer at management who are not accountable- ever.
