I worked at Aegean Air full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

good woring environment in what concerns colleagues
benefits to travel free with ohet carriers

    Cons

poor management.they hire people who have a relative relationship with some managers and those are who get in higher rank positions. manager in reservations department, where i belonged,is completely anaware of what an airline is...they have to change the way they treat personnel as they have already a bad reputation in hiring and this will lead them in the disaster.
    fixed term contracts
work always under pressure and fear
they use the common tactic of having ears and eyes everywhere ready to report you

    Advice to Management

first of all know what you are managing.secondly be closer to the staff, they work for you not for someone else.they are not competitors.

I worked at Aegean Air (Less than a year)

    Pros

Fair salaries/shopping vouchers/extra money when you have to stay to another base/ excellent training

    Cons

Too much pressure during high season/ Too many working hours during high season/no extra money when a flight is delayed

    Advice to Management

Excellent job. The only thing that is annoying is the staff who do not do their job properly. Compliance measures must be taken in order to avoid dissatisfied passengers.

I worked at Aegean Air full-time

    Pros

Friendly colleagues, good bonuses, flexible rosters, legal days off and good company management.

    Cons

Hard to commute to Athens Airport if you live in the city. Some late turnaround flights can get really tiring.

    Advice to Management

Need to organise better the balance between the duties and the off days. Also they need to offer more free tickets for family and friends

I worked at Aegean Air (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The job itself is quite exciting (although you do not get to stay in any other country)

    Cons

You must know people to get a promotion.
The company is over the top costumer-oriented, to the point that they risk safety.
    Does not pay well.
Treats Flight Attendants as waitresses and/or models.
Fires most of the personel after a few months or years, so they cannot get all the benefits.

    Advice to Management

Some day an event will occur that your flight attentands will not have the experience or the training to handle. I hope there will be no victims.
    Start appreciate "older" crews!

I worked at Aegean Air (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The job is fun, there is a great team-spirit as the crews are young and always willing to help their colleagues

    Cons

Low salary, roaster changes all the time, not many airport benefits

    Advice to Management

Pay more attention to the cabin crew

    Positive Outlook

I have been working at Aegean Air full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

With hard work & professional manners, you get to change department and that gives you broader experience.
    You get paid on time.
    Great benefits on travelling.
    Really pleasant facilities too.
    More than ok for Greece.

    Cons

Collaboration between departments and within teams can be challenging.
Low payment and poor training system.
Since there's no training and guidance, it's no wonder it's difficult for one to grow professionally.

    Advice to Management

To cultivate the feeling among the staff that every single person is unique and important part of the chain. Some bonus as a reward would help towards that direction.

I worked at Aegean Air full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Your (ever decreasing) salary is at least paid on time.

    Cons

    - You are expected to do work that is in addition to what you were hired for.
    - Any additional jobs you are assigned are not paid extra.
    - You work rotating shifts every 12 hours (round the clock) because departments are under-staffed.
    - You work holidays, weekends etc.
    - If you live far from the airport area be prepared to spend an extra 2 hours minimum getting there and back home. That means 8+ hours of full time work and 2+ hours commuting = minimum 10+ hours of your day.
    - The company loves statistics! You are just a number.
    - There is no hope of advancement or getting a promotion unless you are in the magic circle of management "favorites".
    - The "friendly" colleague environment in truth is just a show (very few exceptions to this unfortunately).
    - In many cases, management and supervisors know less than agents, but have somehow qualified for that position.
    - In the name of profit, no sacrifice is too big. You will be gone in the blink of an eye if it means the company saves a few euros. This is quite ironic when you consider the money the company spends on business dinners, events etc.

    Advice to Management

What's the point? You will get a condescending nod and be brushed off. Advice to the management is like knocking a deaf person's door!
