I worked at Aero Systems Engineering full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Smart people. Interesting work. Flexible work schedule. Large projects keep you busy for long periods of time. No shortage of work.

    Cons

Systems are extremely old and inefficient. Reluctant to change due to age of workforce. No support on systems. No sign of changing these in the future. Expensive benefits. No on the job training, it's sink or swim.

    Advice to Management

Spend some money on the tools to make the company more efficient.

I have been working at Aero Systems Engineering full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Excellent technical capability and a positive market outlook. The company is committed to its customers and will do what they promise. The care and consideration for the employees is solid but not exceptional.

    Cons

The machinery of the company (business system and processes) are old and broken. If you want to do business like it was done in 1995 you've found your gem. Management is afraid to invest in the company and is making due. Resources are stretched thin and constantly being reassigned.

    Advice to Management

Please tell employees what the company plan is and then invest in the resources (people and systems) to achieve the goal. Quarterly financial stretch goals are not a method of effective management.

    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

The work is interesting and the employees seem to be happy and no inter office bickering.

    Cons

Employee tools are way way out of date. Most employees have been here for too long with no experience out side the company. Department of Redunancy Department

    Advice to Management

Get the systems up to date so they can talk to one another so employee's wont have to do the same thing in 4 different softwares to get one thing done.

    Pros

The CEO understands how the business & employees work. He makes sure that employees are supported, and that money is spent appropriately.

    Cons

Still favoritism for former FluiDyne employees, more than 10 years after ASE bought FluiDyne. Support for internal R&D is falling, particularly with the board of directors .

    Advice to Management

Chuck is doing a great job. Some of the mid-level managers are not doing as well. Some seem more interested in being an engineer than a manager.

    Pros

    Top notch people; good benefits.

    Cons

If working at the main office, one should enjoy winter.

    Advice to Management

Talented people are this company's most valuable asset. Never lose sight of that.

I have been working at Aero Systems Engineering full-time

    Pros

They offer 9/80 work schedule. As an engineer, you stay closely involved with a project throughout design, production, installation and acceptance.

    Cons

Still transitioning from old style operations to more modern practices. They cannot offer as competitive of a salary as some of the bigger companies.

    Advice to Management

ASE trends to have troubles holding on to some very good employees. Reward those who take ownership, hold themselves accountable, and make a difference before it's too late.
