    I worked at Aerohive Networks

    Pros

Many employees were able to experience an IPO and therefore understand what is necessary to take a company public.

    Cons

Unfortunately the IPO has not been as successful as anyone wanted. Stock is now valued at under half of its IPO price and this is after a 2.5-1 reverse split. Company also had to revise publicly issued earnings forecasts downward in Q4. Lots of turnover with top performers from sales team leaving. Also a culture based on politics and not performance.

    Advice to Management

Get to profitability and hit earnings forecasts instead of revising downward.

I have been working at Aerohive Networks full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Not many positive things to say here other than some of the sales & engineering drones here are top quality and really want to make Aerohive competitive.

    Cons

Pay is below standards and you will never work harder in your life than with Aerohive. Management needs to treat employees as people, not numbers and with respect. Respect along with effective communication and accountability are all absent there. Because of this, morale is low and people are leaving in droves! The IPO was a disaster and the 2 for 1 reverse split was a killer to many employees! They rushed the... IPO and should have never gone public in the first place. The company is now run by the bean counters and decisions move at a glacial pace. Competition is gaining ground every day because management can't make decisions and are lost.

    Advice to Management

Clean house at the top and get folks in there that know what they are doing. Aerohive is running into the ground and the current management doesn't seem to care. Also, they should be treating their employees better and start showing some respect for the folks on the front lines battling every day. However, it's probably too late for that now. In my opinion (and the opinion of many others), the best course of... action for Aerohive now is an acquisition!

    Pros

Read other reviews. You won't be valued, but hours are short and vacation is good. Turnover is high enough that they can't do much about bad attitudes. If you are a manager, you will be valued for setting up meetings to solve problems even if you don't fix anything yourself.

    Cons

Company wouldn't put value on stock options, and said only "we won't have a reverse split before IPO." That was an outright lie. It doesn't make me a "stock option junkie with unrealistic expectations" as another reviewer said, unless I had already assumed that hiring managers lie so big.

    Advice to Management

If you sell the stock to new employees, be prepared to make up the shortfall when the stock price is in the tank

I have been working at Aerohive Networks full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great line level employees and they work well together although the good ones in Sales & Marketing have started leaving in droves.

    Cons

Can't trust what Sr Mgmt tells you, frequently they make commitments then change their mind and "forget" to tell the masses. They built a great team for years but underpaid them then hosed everyone with the reverse split before the IPO so anyone worth being there has left or is actively interviewing trying to get off the ship before it goes down. Anyone hired in last 2.5 yrs is well underwater on their options... thanks to the Q3 revenue miss so the ones left have little to no motivation. A lot of great Sales Mgmt in the company is leaving & they've built 90% of the sales org. Letting good sales mgmt leave speaks volumes that they don't value great employees, everyone is just a number. Field guys are fired or quit so often they only have 6 Field Reps left that have been in the role more than a year. Some of the recent positive Glassdoor reviews legitimately appear as if they're fake they are so full of BS.

    Advice to Management

If you're honest with yourselves there's no way you can attribute the mass mutiny in Sales to anything other than the fault of the VPs & SVP. Clean house at top & use some of the $$$ from the IPO to keep the remaining good ones here.

    Pros

Reading fake reviews planted by HR on glassdoor is good for a laugh. (Why not fix the culture instead of shilling here?)

    Cons

Aerohive pays below market, and then makes up low salaries by giving share options. With stock in the tank (and having been reverse split), package is not competitive. Many people are leaving, and much of the top talent is interviewing. Small pay goes along with dead end jobs. Aerohive is a good place for young staff to get promoted, but I can only think of one person who has contributed enough to be promoted to a... management job. In other words, management says all the right things, but when push comes to shove, they don't believe many current employees have contributed much to their success so far because none of them have earned a promotion.

    Advice to Management

Adjust compensations to market. If you can't make the stock go up, increase pay to market rates. Be honest about what turnover means, especially in departments where it is high.
