I worked at Aerotek full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Occasional free food and events. The company does well with the training aspect. It also provides plenty of chances to move departments. However, that is usually isn't based on work ethic.

    Cons

Very high school like. High emphases on being unnatural social. Not for everyone. Management chooses promotions based on popularity rather than actual substance. The upper leadership continuously preaches diversity. But, the upper leadership is minimally diverse. Low pay for the amount of work. Only 3 hours of overtime a week.

    Advice to Management

Try to not pick favorites based on who socializes well in the office. Consider that not everyone has the ability to feel comfortable in all spaces. Therefore, inhibiting optimal socializing.

I have been working at Aerotek full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great people, culture, earning potential/stock options. Work is hard but, the work environment is fun and pretty laid back for a corporate setting. We do a lot of team builders, happy hours, and events outside of work.

    Cons

Hours are way too long. In the beginning it takes time to establish your networks but, it is completely feasible to hit goals in a 40 hour work week (50+ hours per week is mandatory).

    Advice to Management

For the size of the company, there could be more career opportunities available. Everyone starts in recruiting role and moves into a sales career path (and don't get me wrong there is a lot of earning potential) but, you eventually hit a plateau from a development standpoint. Unless a director level position becomes available (which doesn't happen too frequently), there isn't much upward mobility available from here.

    Pros

They do their best to get a good company/position fit for you, by meeting face-to-face, and keeping you in the loop. They also do will at staying in touch and returning calls.

    Cons

As with any staffing agency, they are at the whim of the positions available and in demand.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good communication and keep pitching!

I worked at Aerotek full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

They teach you how to work hard, create a sense of urgency, be self-accountable (but to a fault), handle professional situations with a high level of maturity, and you get a great foundation for recruiting and sales. Uncapped commission!

    Cons

Old school mentality (think boiler room), long hours, no real opportunity for growth if you don't want to sell, you're taught that every time something goes wrong, it's absolutely your fault. This environment does not work well if you're trying to have a wholesome family life or strong marriage! Lastly, although the position is salaried, you get judged if you're not there from 7:30-6ish each day.

    Advice to Management

Take a look at the Googles and Salesforces of the world, and treat your employees better so they stay! i.e. paid maternity leave, shorter days, opportunities to work remote, free flow of ideas, etc.

    Pros

The culture is great at Aerotek. The people are really why I work there. They're all great. It's a young and hip culture.

    Cons

No achievable goals. Hi expectations and not a great work life balance. If you don't stay past 5:30 you're considered a failure.

I have been working at Aerotek full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great training and company culture. Pay is okay for the market. Account Managers get cell phone allowance and car allowance which is nice.

    Cons

Aerotek only hires from within so if you want to join the team, you'll have to do it as a 13 week hourly recruiter making $35K/year. That's usually hard pill to swallow for anybody with any sales experience. Little diversity, too. All recruiters seem to be college aged kids (for better or worse). Management plays obvious favorites which makes it hard to get promoted unless you're well liked and one of them.

    Advice to Management

You need to start hiring talent from outside of Aerotek.

I worked at Aerotek full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Aerotek offers all types of positions from recruiting, recruiting into sales, back office support, national sales roles to support larger clients, administrative roles, billing, etc. The company is always growing, expanding and rolling out new roles which makes it a great place to work with endless opportunities.

In the sales/recruiting roles - there is un capped commission as well as large bonuses paid out quarterly if you are a top performer.

Everyone is always open to giving and receiving feedback as well which helps you develop into an amazing business professional.

    Cons

No "cons" - Aerotek just needs to continue to stay extremely relevant in a competitive industry!

    Advice to Management

Keep developing your talent and dominating the local markets!
