I worked at Aerotek full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Everyone's pretty young that works there

    Cons

Company culture is absolutely horrible!! Probably the worst I've ever seen. You can expect recruiters screaming and fighting in the pit about candidates. It's very cliquey and not a friendly environment. Management and directors only care about how they look and their success. They're not interested in how you're doing as an employee and your success. The director picks favorites and only talks to you if you're performing. And you only start making commission at 8K in spread.

    Advice to Management

Get to know your employees! My director never even tried to get to know me. He only cared about how the operation was performing to make sure he looked good.

I worked at Aerotek full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

-Good job right out of school,
    -Instills an intense work ethic,
-Young company, so fun people to work with

    Cons

-No work life balance, you easily work 50-60 hours a week,
-Poor management, they drive results but not efficiency,
-Poor training of Account Manager, most of them were just good recruiters and they moved into AM role, they aren't trained to teach you how to be better, aren't trained to be leaders or problem solve,
-Horrible pay for the hours that you are working, the commission structure is stingy and doesn't allow for payoff for added work,
    -High turnover

    Advice to Management

-Pay your recruiters more, you expect a lot out of them and you should be spreading the wealth to them as well as the sr. people who are just coasting on a major account.
-Train your AM's better, they were good at recruiting and wanted sales so you promoted them in 1-2 years, they need to be better are developing and problem solving as well
-Need to get more efficient about recruiting, the slave driver mentality causes your high turnover along with the low pay
-Need to make pay or workload fairer between divisions
-Need to push a better work life balance overall

    Pros

    Atmosphere
    Good friendships
    Good Starter Job
You have alot of freedom with how you handle your managers business.
    Time off and personal days

    Cons

    Work/Life Balance is not there
55+ hrs a week paid base week of 40
    Unreliable management and employees
Your commission is based on reliability of others

    Advice to Management

Don't play favorites with recruiters. I would also have a bit more respect for your loyal 18mos + employees. If you have come to the conclusion that a recruiter is not going to get promoted, don't lead them on, just let them go.

    Pros

It is a great feeling to be able to stand behind a strong company with such a great track record. Senior management has a strong vision and makes strategic decisions.

    Cons

Every employee level in the company is the definition of micro-managed. Awful work environment trying to accomplish actual results with a breath on your nape.

    Advice to Management

Continue making great company decisions, but change thought of management styles to move to a more respectful method of gaining results.

    Pros

Great extroverted people to work with. You really do get to go to work with your best friends everyday. There is an ability to really get to know your co-workers that you dont get other places.

    Cons

Very close minded management style. First impressions are everything and no body gives you a chance to change once they have made up their mind about you.

    Advice to Management

Make sure that you do more than just talk the talk, empty promises never helped anyone grow. Too much time is invested in employees that dont really care.
