I have been working at Aetna full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Ability to work at home. Learning, knowledge of new information and subjects. Good coworkers. They are caring and supportive and willing to go the extra mile for each other. Salary is good but work hard and long hours including a LOT of mandatory OT for it.

    Cons

Rigidness. No compassion. All about the Dollar. Poor leadership. Leadership who has no clue what Aetna policies and procedures are but will make up their own. No respect. for employees. favoritism appointees of incapable workers and we all feel the results of this down the road.... Many co-workers with stress related disabilities. Inability to take paid vacation time.

    Advice to Management

Treat people with respect. Encourage growth, allow time for training instead of the constant "gotcha" mentality. Speak to others the way you would want to be spoken to. Show common basic manners and respect.

    Pros

Great people and feel like the company cares about you and what they are doing.

    Cons

People don't like you calling on the phone and everything is very much by email. It is also very set on scheduled meetings.

I have been working at Aetna full-time

    Pros

Steady paycheck, paid vacation, insurance even though it stinks, sometimes overtime. Steady paycheck

    Cons

Too much favoritism, people get promoted because they're friends or related to someone or in a relationship with someone. Supervisors don't really have any authority, upper management has no idea how to manage a pharmacy, so they constantly change the prosesses because the changes they've made aren't working. But of course they will never admit it!!

    Advice to Management

Listen to the people that actually do the work, treat people with respect and show appreciation.

    Negative Outlook

I have been working at Aetna full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Hours of operation. Holidays off. We all need our employment, so we stay to make sure bills are paid, but besides that Aetna specialty is not the best to work for, bc the management team is all based on friendships/relationships instead of qualification.

    Cons

Employees health information can be reviewed by supervisor, managers, and team leads, which is a violation of HIPPA. The health benefits provided to employee has ridiculous(deductibles and coinsurance are between 1350 to 5000...well if I'm sick...I just have to deal with the pain and suffering. It's hard to get promoted, in order to seem like they are engaging with advancements the management will posted a position only after they figure out who they want in that role and have individuals apply knowing their candidate has been chosen. No room for growth.

    Advice to Management

The management of the specialty pharmacy is concerned about phone stats then getting the medication out on time to the members. The company tries to cross train in varies department which is cool. However the cross train doesn't help with bringing down benefits that need to verified in order to get the medications shipped out to the patients in a timely as promised (24to48hrs). The manager walk around and don't even speak to the employee, like they are busy. There is no moral with this company when it comes to employee engagement. Management forces you to take a voluntary survey which is not confidential, sometimes they will stand over you while you take the survey, which makes it hard to say how you really feel. The pharmacy needs to work on communication and stop changing general managers every few quarters.
