I have been working at Aetna full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Some Pros are that they have 6% matching for 401k, good number of PTO days, and possible work at home days if needed later on. They are also pretty flexible if you have any appointments during the day.

    Cons

They do not allow for much growth. Health Insurance is an old industry, and Aetna seems to reaffirm that with their slow professional growth and uncompetitive salary. They also have limited health plans available to their employees. Most of the ones covered by the employer have very poor benefits.

    Advice to Management

Please allow employees to have more professional growth and encourage more innovation. Let's not confirm the outdatedness of the health insurance industry.

I have been working at Aetna (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good pay, 401k, etc. Health benefits are a little pricey.
    Excellent work life balance!

    Cons

Like most large enterprises Aetna suffers from inertia. They sometimes can not get out of their own way, but overall they are the leaders in bringing modern healthcare apps to their customers.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees more. They are the ones who will lead you to the correct conclusion.

I have been working at Aetna full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Flexible work schedule, challenging work, great education benefits

    Cons

Constant internal reorganizations lead to significant knowledge gaps and poor management. Last year my job remained the same, but I had 5 different managers, each consecutive manager had less knowledge about what my job entailed.

    Advice to Management

Stop the internal reorgs for a while! Let people sit down on the bus before you drive to the next destination.
