I have been working at Aetna full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Work at home. Work with a great team, great supervisor , good PTO time, will work with you if need a flexible schedule

    Cons

Pay is low, always need OT on phones and it's hard to stretch and move around, always changing job expectations. Have to ask for vacation six months in advance. Being a CCR we are not kept up
To date on what is happening.

    Advice to Management

Remember their is more to Aetna than CT and management. Would be nic if they talked to the "lowly" workers

I worked at Aetna (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Fantastic people, challenging work, stretch goals, freedom to innovate and deliver

    Cons

Antiquated customer systems, a big disconnect between senior management beliefs and feet-on-the-street work that has to get done to overcome the shoddy systems

    Advice to Management

    Stop talking and listen.

I worked at Aetna full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

You create your own promotions by searching for lateral jobs within the company.

You get to listen to quarter meetings on how the company is doing so that you can be mislead into thinking you will get a bonus and pay raise that match the company's pay-for-performance guidelines.

You get to create your own work performance reviews which no one reads but your manager..( sincerely... many department is capped on the amount of money for raises and bonuses and the number of 3 and 4s they can give out).

You can leave this job at any time and pick up a higher paying job doing similar work almost immediately..

The company thinks it is ok not to give you a pay raise because you are in the 75th percentile for your job function.

You will be judged on a 5 point rating system in which a 5 is NEVER given out ( not exaggerating..management says that in order to get a 5 you have to accept a promotion??).

    Cons

Terrible health insurance (not even taking into consideration (I WORKED FOR A HEALTH INSURANCE COMPANY), pay raises are capped to a max of 5%, so is the number of 4s per team (talk about a morale booster when you have always been a 4 to be told you are getting a 3 and management cannot do anything about it). No continued training to expand upon skills, no time to do any of the tedious training because of the workload. Senior management does not care about you unless you do not perform (the lack of recognition makes me feel great because no mention of my name means that I did great), they get the huge bonuses and recognition..I get to keep a job..

    Advice to Management

Talent and drive go where the money is, invest money in your employees and they would be working for you instead of accepting a 30% pay increase with a promotion at another job doing similar work.
